I was very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. Having come from the Los Angeles area, I'm used to getting very authentic Mexican food. After looking at the options in the Columbus area, I decided to try Fiesta Jalisco based on the menu descriptions. We ordered the chorizo queso, picadillo super burrito, chile relleno plate (called chiles poblanos on the menu), three side tacos al pastor, and out of curiosity the shrimp chipotle pasta. The queso was delicious, every bit as good as I've had back home. The super burrito was huge; about a foot long in a large to go container. It was stuffed with shredded beef, rice, and beans. I've never heard of picadillo before, but it's very similar to machaca. It tasted great and is large enough for two. Pretty impressive for $10.75. The tacos were street food style but large than the ones you usually get. I think they were using 5 or 6 inch tortillas. The al pastor had pineapple in it, which was unusual for me, but it really works with the spices and flavor. I was hesitant about the pasta, but it sounded good to my wife so we ordered it. The pasta itself was a little more cooked than I prefer, it was more tender and had less chew. It worked well for the dish, though. The shrimp was perfectly cooked. It tasted like they grilled it then added it into the pasta instead of just cooking them in the sauce. The sauce was delicious and had a nice kick to it. Not too much, though. We ended up adding some extra red pepper flakes. They have an extensive drink menu that not on the regular menu. You can find it if you search a bit online. My wife got a peach daiquiri and I ordered a Cadillac margarita. Both tasted great and, at least with the margarita, was nice and strong. This will definitely be my go to Mexican food restaurant...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis restaurant has been a fave of my family's for many many years! We have been eating at Fiesta Jalisco since their first location, since our 19 year old Sat in a high chair. We have followed this restaurant each time they have moved. We have also tried many Mexican restaurants over the years and we always said this one was the best! The past couple times we have visited, not so great. Incline in food costs have resulted in more expensive meals. Decline in quality of food has been evident. In comparing some of the same meals we love to order I can tell you that it just isn't as good as it used to be! Service remains about the same with the same familiar faces that we have been accustomed to seeing. While we recognize who they all are, including the owner they also recognize us as being regulars. However I am going to elaborate on the last visit in particular my husbands birthday just a few days back. We mentioned to the waiter that it was his birthday, they have a thing they do.... Ya know where you wear the sombrero and the wait staff sings and embarrasses you? Well we waited and waited and waited just to be told how busy they are, the wait staff couldn't get it together and my husband lost all patience. So we left. Not so sure were really big fans of Fiesta Jalisco anymore. Failure to recognize a customer at their children's request and failure to keep a regular coming back for that same great...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhatever you do, don't sit at the bar. The WORST service I've ever received. This is coming from a person who has served 16 years straight so I know the difference between being being busy and being blatantly rude. Saturday night, the week after cinco de mayo and there is a grumpy troll serving drinks. She barely greeted is, I heard her tell another guest Midori was LIME flavored(its melon), she snapped on a guest for asking what the margarita flavors were. I was horrified to see this young woman be so utterly unbothered by the quality of her service and very nonchalant when my food came out incorrectly or the TWO TIMES she forgot to order my appetizer. We still tipped her over 25% because of server Karma but I hope she either finds a different gig or takes her job a bit more seriously. The food would've been good if she had gotten my order correct. I ordered the chimichangas and wanted cheese sauce instead of red sauce. It came out dry with extra cheese on it. I was already a little perturbed by the appetizer folly but I wanted to give her a chance to save the situation. The food came out, I saw it was wrong, she saw it was wrong, I sat and waited for her to check in with us after the beautiful food came out and she COMPLETELY IGNORED US!!! Business lost and I'm telling everyone to avoid that place in...
