I was in a pinch and needed to eat something quick before heading to see a movie. Went inside and ordered a double cheeseburger before it hit me that the place smelled absolutely terrible. I could not figure out what it was at the time, but looking back I'm guessing vomit and strong cleaning chemicals. I know it happens sometimes at restaurants, even nice ones. But good god, the smell was overwhelming. Easily top 10 worst smells in my life. It's hard to understand how the whole place smelled so bad, but the visually gross and deteriorating floors/surfaces of the restaurant do provide some supporting evidence. I strongly considered walking out, and I made up my mind that I was not going to eat any food that was made in a place like that. But I waited for my food anyway out of some misplaced sense of respect and social obligation.
After getting my food, I walked out into the dirty parking lot and stood next to my bike. I was really hungry and had about five minutes to either eat the cheeseburger or not eat anything besides popcorn for the next 3 hours. After a couple minutes of pained deliberation, somehow I made the decision to inspect and possibly eat the cheeseburger, even though the residual smell from the restaurant was still burning my nostrils and my memory glands.
The cheeseburger was great. One of the best Burger King burgers I've ever had. It wasn't excellent, but as far as burgers from McDonalds/BK/Wendy's go, it was a top contender.
This was a very confusing experience for me. This should be a 1 star review, but the point of a restaurant is to make food, and the food was good. The smell haunts me. I'm kind of curious if it smells like that everyday. I feel so bad for the...
Read moreCame through the drive thru at 11:30pm and the staff stated the broiler had already been shut, meaning the staff was serving food that was either old or expired. Does this not justify the restaurant to close early since serving expired food would constitute a potentional violation for food service safety? Why would anyone want to receive old food?
UPDATE: The morning manager named Diane provided exceptional customer service two days later when I went in and explained to her what had happened. She informed me that the broiler had been having problems lately and was being serviced and offered me breakfast for the morning. Great job, Diane!
10/21/20 2 years ago, I wrote a negative review about this location and vowed never to come back. So, after all this time, I decided to revisit the location for breakfast and after all this time the incompetence of this location and its employees is still the same. Once again, they got my order wrong, served me the wrong items and on top of it, the food was old and expired! This Burger King location will be investigated for quality assurance both internally and externally! If you value your hard earned money, avoid this location like the plague! UNBELIEVABLE!
UPDATE: Spoke to the GM and requested to be contacted by the regional manager named Cecilia who was unavailable. Will update review once I hear from her. Also, took a picture of the heat station area to show customers the excess amount of old food that sits under the lamps and continues to be served to customers. The picture is the last one posted under photos for...
Read moreFor whatever reason, not only are there few Burger Kings in Minneapolis, but Burger King in Minneapolis isn't anything to write home about. That said, the food at this location does taste exactly as you'd expect from a Burger King. Moist, pre-processed burgers with archetypically stale lettuce, decent tomatoes, and the usual mustard, ketchup, and bad pickles that almost habitually taste akin to a bad drinking fountain nearing the end of its lifespan. Chicken sandwiches are good. If it weren't for this Burger King, I wouldn't know that you can warm up mayonnaise to make it somewhat moist, and arguably more on brand for the generally moist, and not exactly fresh taste of Burger King. Their fries are good, albeit salty as all get out, which is standard for every Burger King I've ever been to. Frozen cokes are a bit thicker and more slushy like here. The place could use new carpeting, and the men's bathroom is almost as grubby as one would find in a high school, but the inside still feels contemporary in the sense that regarding Twin Cities Burger King locations, the inside of this one is pretty standard not just for this metro, but for an older Burger King that looks like it hasn't gotten new support wall designs in 10 years, nor new flooring in closer to 20 years. It's a quintessential Burger King, so by definition the food is only good when you're craving fast food, the staff is equal parts welcoming, and tired; and the place looks like it hasn't received a face lift in...
