The only saw a small portion of this park. It was absolutely beautiful day and a beautiful walk. We are from out of town and it looks like they just had a large snowfall. The weather was in the 80s in the snow is still starting to melt.
We parked at a pay lot and walked about a mile to get to the Falls. You can park right next to the Falls to get out but it was nice to go walk through the woods and through the park.
When we went, it was still early April also the weather was still starting to bloom. I have no doubt this area is absolutely gorgeous during the spring and fall and all the colors.
Did see lots of graffiti sadly. While I do believe that some graffiti can be gorgeous where this graffiti was located degraded the park a little bit.
As we were walking back from the Falls, we stopped and got Italian ice. The gentleman was super nice and it was super good.
Would highly recommend stopping by at least once, if you’re in the area.
If you live in the area, I believe this is a wonderful park where you could spend time with your family doing many different activities
One thing I did not like about the park was that we only found one restroom when we were walking. The restroom was a porta potty, it was super full, and there is no toilet paper.
Not sure if there are other places throughout the park or maybe when the restaurants are open during the summer, but would recommend using the restroom before enjoying this...

There are numerous pavilions and grills for family bar-b-que events. You can reserve them in advance or find unoccupied ones at your discretion.
It is semi handicap accessable.

In the summer time there is a wading pool where parents take young children to cool off and play.
The beach where the creek meets and flows into the river provides awesome fishing options for walleye, northerns, muskies, trout, carp, panfish and crocodiles! (Okay...no...
Read moreAlways a great place to visit, especially after a good storm. The falls are roaring, it's a great place for a walk (especially to the Mississippi and back), and then there's Sea Salt, which is a terrific, casual seafood restaurant, and Sebastion Joe's, which makes the best ice cream in town (try their rasberry chocolate chip). The park at the top of the falls is flat, easy to walk, has a great view of the falls, and is where the concessions, picnic tables and bathrooms are located. If you have the time, be sure to take the walk to the South that gives you access to the bridge going over Minnehaha creek to the Veteran's home. Bear left at the VA once you cross the bridge at the VA. It's not a marked trail.
Two caveats. First, the stairs down to the base of the falls, where the trail to the Mississippi begins, are long and fairly steep. Second, if it's a dry year the falls may not be flowing. However, it's still a lovely...
