I do not like to write negative reviews and this one pains me but it needs to be said. Food was good but somewhat basic. Upon walking in, there is a sign that says to seat yourself and use the QR code on the table to order. No one is there to greet you you and besides dropping your food off at the table no one comes to your table at all. You get your own water, boxes, sauce etc. It's basically an overpriced fast food style restaurant. Service is at an absolute minimum yet they still ask for gratuity. To top it off they add on a 10% fee to the check total to increase staff wages yet the restaurant was barely staffed. I did tip when I ordered via the QR code because I thought there would be some sort of service, but dropping food off at a table and nothing else is not the service I expected. Besides the food runner I don't think they had a server on staff. I didn't see one. The food is good but the experience ruined everything. I was a server for many years and am notorious for over tipping. I know how hard the job is and how unappreciated servers are. This is insulting to those of us that worked our butts off providing great service in exchange for gratuity. I do not mind paying an additional fee if the servers are actually being payed more than the minimal server wage but there needs to be service. This experience was definitely shady. In the end I feel the owners may be greedy and have found a way to pass the responsibility to pay a fair wage onto the customer and reap the benefits of a full service restaurant. Just my opinion and I could be wrong.

Presentation its alright. “Looks” appealing. The place is cute. The food, incredibly overspiced and somehow still tasteless. The “big” portions (for small torillas) seem to be how they try to mitigate this. However I find it hard to believe that a taco meal (2 tacos) cost the same as a burger. Each taco is between 5-6 dlls. You can argue its less by cents. But after tax it’s definitely 5-6. And they don’t come with fries or anything on the side. Guac is $3 extra. The food you got order like McDonalds, so it isn’t a fine restaurant as its prices seem to hint. And somehow they still ask if you would like to tip. At least McDonalds knows how to stay on their no tip lane. If you are looking for a place to make mistakes at 2 in the morning after clubbing this is the spot. If you want good tacos. It is not.

okay so overall the food was delicious. i got the burrito and it was solid. no real complaints there. the yuca fries also delicious and not too greasy, perfectly crispy. the guac was so fresh and so were the salsas. my only complaint was the guava margarita. mind you i’ve been craving a guava margarita for MONTHS now so my hopes were high. but this one really missed the mark for me. it wasn’t guava-y enough and generally just tasted kinda watered down. (though you can note in my photo that i did drink all of it so it wasn’t unbearable—but truly who can say no to a margarita) it just needed something to take it up a notch. overall a great choice and they were super accommodating for our large group and the service was so speedy.

Centro, located at 1414 Quincy St NE in Minneapolis, is a vibrant Mexican restaurant celebrated for its modern twists on classic dishes and lively atmosphere.

Menu Highlights: • Tacos: Favorites include barbacoa, carnitas, and chicken tinga, each offering rich and authentic flavors. • Specialties: The limited-time crunch wrap with chips and avocado has been particularly popular among patrons. • Sides: Yuca fries and chips with a trio of salsas are recommended accompaniments. • Desserts: The tres leches cake is noted for being moist and not overly sweet.

Beverage Selection:

Centro boasts an impressive array of tequila and mezcal drinks. Cocktails on tap, such as the house margarita and mezcal slushy, are crowd-pleasers. The spirits menu features a diverse selection of tequilas and mezcals, each served in two-ounce pours.

Ordering System:

The restaurant utilizes a QR code menu system, allowing guests to view the menu, place orders, and pay bills via their mobile phones. While this system enhances efficiency, some diners have found it cumbersome.

Ambiance and Service:

Centro’s lively atmosphere is complemented by a spacious patio, making it an ideal spot for social gatherings. The service is generally quick, and the staff is attentive. However, experiences with the ordering system have varied among patrons.

Location and Accessibility:

Situated in Northeast Minneapolis’ art district, Centro is a popular destination. Parking can be challenging, so planning ahead is advisable.

Overall Experience:

Centro offers a dynamic dining experience with flavorful dishes and a broad beverage selection. While the QR code ordering system aims to streamline service, it may not appeal to all guests. Despite potential parking difficulties, the restaurant’s vibrant ambiance and quality offerings make it a noteworthy spot in...

I come here every week for Happy Hour. On a street filled with restaurants, why keep returning to the same one? Great relaxed atmosphere, friendly attentive staff, delicious food and a yummy spicy margarita. Get the $5 happy hour chips and they will likely offer to refill them when you are done. This is my weekly oasis. I read a book, relax and enjoy. Like a coffee shop, but better because, margaritas instead of coffee! I appreciate the option to order via QR code at the table. It adds to the relaxed vibe for me not to have a waiter pressuring me or trying to turn over the table. It would be a great place to bring a group as it's almost like a mini food hall with multiple concepts in the same building. Every single staff member who has interacted with me has been genuine and helpful. Clearly there is a great manager here. Will be back...
