I stopped in here yesterday and ordered the #3 Awesome Trio. It had red bean, white bean, mung bean paste, taro paste, pandan jelly and coconut milk. I would say the most notable items in this drink were the pandan jelly, taro paste, and mung bean paste with the pandan jelly probably being my favorite. It was noodle like in appearance, slightly chewy, and texturally pleasing.
This drink was heavy on the red bean and white bean which you could probably tell from the images on the website, but I am typically a fan of sweet beans so I didn’t mind this too much. I did not see white beans on the menu for this drink so I am not sure what was going on there. I’m not sure if I didn’t mix it up enough or if it was just heavy on the beans, but I was just eating spoonfuls of beans at the end since they clumped together and would not fit through the straw. Otherwise, I thought it was pretty good and had a nice mix of flavors.
If I was to stop by again, I would probably try the taro lover as it has most of my favorite ingredients. I have also seen some people knocking the customer service here, but the lady who served me had good customer service! The parking in this area is probably going to be a struggle, but I lucked out and got a spot right in front of the establishment. It is a little pricey but it is a fun treat to get here and there...
Read moreDecided to reward myself with a beverage. There were 3 people in the place sitting, so I didn't have to wait for someone to read the menu before they ordered. I knew what I wanted before I went in. I was asked to wait which wasn't a problem. I was so excited because I knew what I wanted, placing my order.. It was s19 otherwise known as the mangonada. The anticipation was killing me. It didn't take long as I heard the blender working its magic. Then wellah!! The mangonada. Visually it was everything I had seen in pictures. Now I have never had one and it's not summertime so this should be interesting. It was orange and red and I drove home to finally taste it. It was freezing ...the straw was gritty probably from the tamarind that slowly melted in the drink. Chamoy sauce was drizzled throughout the beverage I didn't taste any chili powder or lime in it. It had small cubes pieces of mango which were hard to chew. But overall it was refreshing even for a cold December day. I dropped $7 bucks and some change left a dollar tip which the employee graciously thanked me for. They are adding new things to the menu and I will be back to try something with...
Read moreI've been here so many times and the drinks are great, but service is always SLOW! Yesterday blew my mind as Bambu has been open long enough to know they need to be faster. When I came in I was the only customer. I ordered 3 drinks and 1 pandan waffle. I know they are always slow so I decided to time it and wow you have got to be kidding me. So the pandan waffle always takes longer. Waffle should be 5 minutes at most as all you need to do is pour the batter into the waffle maker. It took 12 minutes for 3 drinks and the waffle came out 3 minutes after so making it a total of 15 minutes. This is terribly slow! Also, they had at least 3 people working as 1 guy took my order, saw 1 girl in the kitchen, and a different guy brought my order. This makes no sense especially with the waffle coming out 3 minutes later. This should take 5-7 minutes at most when each person can make a drink. I don't expect them to get faster as it's...
