Today is my birthday and my mom said she wasnted to take me to breakfast, she chooses this place and said her friends husband has been here and brought my late grandfather here when he came to visit MN well that was 20 yrs ago i said to her shes like I kno but there really good. We walk in This loud lady yells from the door we can sit anywhere we take a seat and are met with flies everywhere we order food and while we wait we were forced to listen to the loud hosts full conversation with whatever other lady was in the back I mean this host lady would not shut up even when taking our orders just yelling like were not right there she wasn't rude yet just louddddddddddd.. The food comes my mom gets the shrimp and grits, i get like a mix eggs and diced ham scrambled thing the only thing i could eat was half of the English muffin the egg had this weird smell and because it was mixed with everything i took a bite tasted like slop half of another bite the smell of the eggs like maybe they were old yuk i couldnt do it i touched nothing else even the water had a funny taste like fossit water. I look up at my mom and I'm like I'm sorry but this is disgusting she said I kno I cant take another bite she also got 3 turkey links she took one bite of one and that was also disgusting. They loud host comes by and is everything tasting good (LOUD) I said nicely no we just want the bill she yells "WELL WHAT WAS WRONG?" Trying to be bice about it i said it just wasnt good she could clearly look down and see we barely touched the food she then says "WELL I CANT FIX IF I DON'T KNO WHATS WRONG" I again trying to be calm i said "it wasnt good it just wasnt good didnt taste right" she storms off we go to the front to pay as shes doing so she yelled im taking off the add on idk if that was the 3 link turkey or the cinnamon bun but our Total to pay for food we barley touched came to $27 and some change and she had the nerve to have an attitude she became quit waiting on us to pay we paid and while the card was processing i said to her since she wanted a explanation so bad as if she could fix the issue "the eggs smelled bad, like off" she looked at me and said nothing if we didnt like it we just didnt like it fixing things would have been not making us pay for food that was barely touched it was slop.. I reading the reviews and now I see there was management changed so thats probably why its no longer good the original Milda's Cafe owners no longer work there smh what a start to my birthday never again...
Read moreThe food was really, really, good. But, we had horrendous service. We received one menu for three people, she brought a drink for my husband and son and didn't ask what I want, nor wait for my answer when she asked if we wanted coffee, thrusted my husband's coffee onto the table (spilling it), and walked away for about 8 minutes. We got our order in and hung out. For a Sunday, it wasn't busy (I would say 5-8 tables open).
Our food took a while, but it was really good. My husband had to ask multiple times on coffee refills when she ran by and didn't acknowledge us.
We waited about 15 minutes for our check after we asked for it, and I asked another waitress for a box. I had my hand out for it, and she just dropped it in the table and turned and walked away. The same waitress ignored me earlier when I was trying to get her attention for assistance.
The cafe is cute, it seemed well kept, and food was really good. It's a shame bad attitudes and poor customer service overshadowed our experience, especially since we seek out local places.
I'm still shocked at how poorly we were treated, as well as others as I started to look around and listen. One woman actually came up to the coffee island and had to ask for more coffee as her waitress was...
Read moreThis is a breakfast/diner restaurant that has been family owned for many decades. No wait time when my partner and I went at 10:30am. I got the Philly cheese steak egg scramble and my partner got the typical 2 eggs, bacon and toast breakfast. The Philly cheese steak egg scrambles was hot and good. The cheese was melty and the steak had good flavors to it and it was on a bed of hashbrown that was good (3/5). We also ordered a cinnamon roll that we saw was microwaved to heat it back up but tasted like your typical cinnamon roll. Gooey sauce and soft middle, was decent (3/5). The only con to the place was the service. The waitress was nice and so was the other staff but we never got asked for a refill of water and coffee when there was only us and one other customer in the restaurant. The only time they came back after getting our food was when we were already done with our food and then asked if we wanted more water or coffee. Overall, an okay place with okay food. Would've just liked to have had more attention for refills...
