Pepitos Mexigo Deli — Restaurant in Minneapolis

Stopped in for a takeout order and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the staff was friendly. On the negative side, parking is horrific, and there were a few hiccups with my order.

Order Accuracy: Thankfully, I realized two items were missing before leaving the restaurant and the staff kindly addressed that quickly. However, another item was unfortunately missing, requiring me to drive back to get a refund. This was a bit of an inconvenience, and I hope the restaurant can double-check takeout orders more thoroughly in the future.

Food: The food itself was decent, but not quite amazing. I ordered the chicken enchilada with rice and beans. I thought the beans would be refried, but they were not. My mistake for not asking. Overall, disappointed that the food wasn't quite up to par as the original Pepitos restaurant.

Hoping my experience was due to an off day, and I'll probably go back one more time for a better...

Try the NACHOS LUPITAS and ask if they have NACHOS CONCHITAS AND DEEP FRIED ICE CREAM... They took my family's favorite items off the menu when they closed the other location. I understand you have to downsize the menu. But my whole family has traveled an hour to Pepitos for Nachos Conchitas and deep fried ice cream. nobody makes the ice cream like Pepitos, I have tried others, but they have all failed, seriously who puts chocolate on deep fried Ice cream, I only want the honey.

There is only a few tables in the new place here, but I would stand and eat if I had to, it is sooooo good.

Don't walk, run as fast as you can to Pepito's before it is too late. If this gem closes It will cause me great post Traumatic stress.

Great Mexican food off the beaten path. The feel was "I was very successful as a food truck start up, and now I have my own brick and mortar". Very nice owner. House made chips and salsa were premium, queso was spot on. Ordered a chicken mole taco and it was so good I forgot to take a picture. I also got a steak burrito, but the taco was so big I couldn't go after the burrito for too long. Selection of Jarritos along with bottled coke products. Everything was made fresh and was perfectly seasoned. Note the steak was a true Mexican steak that almost could have been shredded, rather than diced steak bites.
