I recently had the pleasure of visiting Patisserie 46, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped foot inside this charming patisserie, I was greeted with warmth and a tantalizing aroma that instantly drew me closer to the display case. Every bite I took from the exquisite pastries I ordered left me craving for more. I am thrilled to share my experience with you and highly recommend Patisserie 46 to all dessert enthusiasts.
Firstly, let me start by praising the croissants. Oh, those flaky, buttery croissants were pure perfection! Each bite transported me to a state of pure bliss, and I found myself savoring every morsel. The delicate layers and rich buttery flavor were a testament to the skill and dedication of the bakers at Patisserie 46.
My adventure continued with the Opera cake and the Evelyn, both masterpieces in their own right. As I laid my eyes on these stunning creations, I couldn't help but admire the artistry that went into their preparation. The Opera cake, with its luscious layers of sponge cake, chocolate ganache, and coffee buttercream, was a symphony of flavors that danced across my palate. The Evelyn, on the other hand, was a vision of beauty with its light mousse, fresh berries, and delicate pastry shell. Each bite was an explosion of fruity freshness, perfectly balanced and utterly delightful.
Although I didn't have the chance to sample their breads on this visit, the sight of them alone was enough to make my mouth water. The loaves, rolls, and baguettes displayed with pride showcased the craftsmanship and dedication that Patisserie 46 puts into their baked goods. Rest assured, I will not miss the opportunity to indulge in their bread selection during my next visit.
The overall experience at Patisserie 46 was a treat for all the senses. The warm and inviting atmosphere, coupled with the exceptional quality of their pastries, created a memorable visit. The attention to detail and the evident passion for their craft sets this patisserie apart from the rest.

Read moreThis pastry shop scene in the twin cities is phenomenal and this one is one of those special places. I love the precautions that they are taking during the pandemic. For now they are only doing online/phone ordering and curbside pickup. I didn't know until I got there so I pulled up to a curbside pickup parking spot and ordered right there on the phone and they brought my pastries out to my designated spot. Easy as pie!
I tried 4 different pastries today as the new year's resolutions are already out the window ;)
Almond paste croissant - really freaking good. Huge pastry and it's filled to the brim with almond paste. I know some places skimp out on the paste but not here. Sweet and satisfying.
Kouign Amann - small but mighty. The king of all pastries . Theirs had a crunch on the inside and was soft, chewy, and sweet on the inside. I think I need to run a marathon on the treadmill now after devouring that one.
Spinach Feta puff pastry - perfect for that savory craving. Very tasty. I always love spinach-cheese combos - combine it with puff pastry and we are golden.
Pointsetta pastry - this one was unique - shaped like a pinwheel and had raspberry glaze on the tips and chocolate mousse-like cream in the middle. Pretty and delicious!
After that I'm going to lie on the couch, rub my stuffed belly and realize with a smile that I made the best decision ever by going here. The calories...
Read moreSpacious patisserie offering some great desserts and other baked goods from what I saw. There is a good amount of seating inside and out which is awesome. I typically don't want to wait until I get home to try what I bought so it is nice that I can sit and enjoy desserts here.
I tried the lemon tart and the chocolat. My first bite into the tart was a total wow moment with an explosion of flavors. If I was to do a little dance for food, this is what I would be doing it to. The flavors from the lemon cream and the tart shell were both perfectly executed. The tart shell was soft but crunchy at the same time and wasn't crumbly. The lemon cream almost had this key lime flavor which is what took it up to the next level. Upon further research, I saw that it has a lime glaze and zest which would explain the key lime flavor.
Next the chocolat. I was really hoping that they had either eclairs or the flourless chocolate raspberry cake since they looked fantastic from the pictures, but unfortunately they didn't today. The chocolat is rich and needed something to balance it out which is why I was hoping for the others. Regardless, it was still delicious and the crunchy bottom was a nice texture component. I would love to stop in and try some other items in the future since they are great at what they do, and they have great attention to detail when it comes to formulating...
