On my first visit, I asked if it were possible to make one of their mocha's vegan, or if the chocolate already had dairy in it.
The barista working informed me the sisters were anti-vegan and were very strongly against anything vegan and will not be able to do something like that.
Instead of a simply, "No, we cannot. Sorry" And suggesting a different item, the barista made me feel immediately uncomfortable and unwelcome.
It's okay of a shop cannot meet certain dietary requests. But it's not okay to make customers feel unwelcome and have the shop owners personal perspective pushed on a customer for simply asking about a menu item.
I was honestly really excited to try the beans they carry at sister sludge, but I will not be returning due to this experience.
We live in a big diverse city where everyone has their own personal beliefs and perspectives. Most places I go here, all beliefs feel quite welcomed, even if theres a difference in them, and everyone has the common decency to not push them on you when you order a coffee.

Read moreThe woman behind the bar cut herself while trying to open the bottle and was getting blood on the bar, the wine bottle itself, and the wine cooler. She never once stopped to properly clean up and disinfect anything. Eventually I just told her I was fine with a not full glass because I didn't want her to pour me a glass from a bloody bottle. She eventually stopped trying and put the bottle back in the cooler (without wiping it off). The place looked very nice and cozy, but she didn't even put a band aid on until someone else came in to help her, but continued to serve people without disinfecting.
My glass did have a smudge on it that I didn't notice because I had been so distracted by her getting blood on other places. I'm honestly hoping the smudge was a coincidence and not her blood.
