On my first visit, I asked if it were possible to make one of their mocha's vegan, or if the chocolate already had dairy in it.

The barista working informed me the sisters were anti-vegan and were very strongly against anything vegan and will not be able to do something like that.

Instead of a simply, "No, we cannot. Sorry" And suggesting a different item, the barista made me feel immediately uncomfortable and unwelcome.

It's okay of a shop cannot meet certain dietary requests. But it's not okay to make customers feel unwelcome and have the shop owners personal perspective pushed on a customer for simply asking about a menu item.

I was honestly really excited to try the beans they carry at sister sludge, but I will not be returning due to this experience.

We live in a big diverse city where everyone has their own personal beliefs and perspectives. Most places I go here, all beliefs feel quite welcomed, even if theres a difference in them, and everyone has the common decency to not push them on you when you order a coffee.

But sister sludge is an execption, and they will be sure to tell you how they feel, simply for asking about a menu item. Not cool, or...

The woman behind the bar cut herself while trying to open the bottle and was getting blood on the bar, the wine bottle itself, and the wine cooler. She never once stopped to properly clean up and disinfect anything. Eventually I just told her I was fine with a not full glass because I didn't want her to pour me a glass from a bloody bottle. She eventually stopped trying and put the bottle back in the cooler (without wiping it off). The place looked very nice and cozy, but she didn't even put a band aid on until someone else came in to help her, but continued to serve people without disinfecting.

My glass did have a smudge on it that I didn't notice because I had been so distracted by her getting blood on other places. I'm honestly hoping the smudge was a coincidence and not her blood.

It was truly not a...

The worse coffee shop. Please don’t go if you don’t drink alcohol. We’re force to buy something even though they don’t service coffee after certain hours that we didn’t know about. The only have alcohol and we don’t drink. After sitting 15 minutes, we’re told to leave or buy something, meaning buy alcohol. This isn’t the first time she targeted my and my friend. She always has unwelcome face when she sees us. We weren’t feel too comfortable to come in the first place but this incident even prove to us not to ever come back. I forgot to mention that there are people who literally sitting didn’t order a thing. When we told her that, she said you should give them time while she was kicking us out. If you care about customer service and you don’t want get kicked out, please don’t waste your...

I liked Sisters' Sludge just fine at their old location, but I didn't visit them any more than other local coffee shops. Their new location (and new.. je ne sais quoi?) is TRULY FANTASTIC. Their staff are incredibly friendly, they know how to make GOOD espresso (and will explain drinks to you if you aren't familiar), their prices are decent/reasonable, and their space is airy and cozy with just the right amount of "background buzz" to keep conversations private and still promote focus if you're trying to work. I've been searching for a good coffee shop to work in as an alternative to home and the office, and I think I just found it. Visit if you haven't yet!

A semi-modern atmosphere - bar seating, cushion chair seating, and table seating. This is one of those places where the cafe and wine bar are separate. Unfortunately, the bar seating in Cafe area is where the servers suits the orders for the other costumers. That area is particularly clutter, compared to the other seating areas. The wifi stop is directly connected to Facebook, to check in our enter a code. Not good for people that are not on FB or are anti-FB. The server I encountered was very friendly! There is no step to get on but the entry way is narrow, the the rest of the space is decently spaced out.

Probably the best customer service in the Twin Cities...no joke! And, as a cafe, they have some wonderful food options. Oh, and just for a splash of awesomeness, they add an espresso ice cube to your iced drinks so that they don't dilute! Also, they have TONS of seating if you're looking for a work space. My only hangup is that with a name like Sisters Sludge the vibe of the place is just...OK. With little style direction, it loses some cool points.
