I came to this cafe for the second time to have lunch and enjoy the atmosphere. However, the second time was a horrible experience and I will never return. I was rushed arriving to join a meeting online and needed to sit down to be in the meeting before I was able to purchase anything. As I was sitting outside in my meeting one of the owners rudely interrupted me and said that I need to purchase something in order to sit here and that they need to keep their tables open for their lunch crowd. There were numerous tables open at this point of confrontation. I told her I planned on getting something after my meeting and she continued to argue with me to then tell me "I must not know how businesses run". This was derogatory and offensive, even to the person on the Zoom meeting whom was shocked to overhear this treatment. I restated I planned to purchase something after my meeting and that I was not taking up space. A few mins later, another one of the owners or managers, came to interrupt me again making accusations and assumptions that I was not going to purchase something and that I could not sit there unless I was. Apparently they have had this issue before with folks coming to sit down at their tables for hours and not purchase anything. This assumption was offensive, especially after I stated multiple times what my plan was. After my meeting I went inside to state that I was leaving and not going to be supporting their business after this treatment and the man and woman who must be owners or managers continued to interrupt me and treat me poorly. It was a terrible experience and absolutely not a way you treat potential customers. Their approach, tone, and energy was far from positive and it is unfortunate to have to write this review and bring awareness to how I was treated. I cannot help but think this was a racial incident and that if I were a white individual is a business suit I would not have been approach in this way or with this tone. I will never be going back as this is not a business that creates a warm, welcoming and inclusive...
Read moreDesperate to try a quaint little coffee place on our way to the airport, wanting to give a local place a shot. Usually personable, kind interactions are what you receive in small business, local coffee shops. I was really let down by the disappointing customer service, I mean I'm realize it's a Thursday afternoon, but at least let us know our coffees are done, instead of just standing by us, while they sit, getting cold across the counterside...we stand there, waiting like lost new first timers here... they didn't greet us really... And when I mentioned almond milk to replace the cow milk. She cut me off saying just the word "soy." Not "I'm sorry. We don't have almond milk. Would soy be ok?" Just one word, like she was correcting me for being so foolish to think they might have an almond substitute. It was just a cold, weird interaction, that made our multiple drinks business seem like an inconvenience to their day instead of treating us like appreciated customers. I don't expect them to worship the ground we walk in, but for crying out loud, be friendly and let us know when our mediocre beverages are now prepared and ready since we paid you hard earned moneys for this fun experience. Where was the Minnesota-nice to entice customers to be repeat-customers and keep the small...
Read moreIt's that odd space between traditional and modern, and I wouldn't call it cozy. They have bar seating and table seating. They don't have couches or booths. It also looks old, and could stand to be updated.
I was in the bar seating, and someone came in after me and couldn't stay put. They were constantly walking back and forth behind me, usually bumping into my backpack, which was well out of the way of space between the chair and the other table. But I'm not sure if that person work there or not, because they were constantly back and forth and sometimes loading things. They were at least enough of a regular to know a lot of the people there, and maybe it was the boss or friend of the boss.
it wasn't that the person was there, it's that they kept moving around and bumping into my backpack when there was plenty of space. Very uncomfortable. The servers were very polite, though. And I would say they have decently sized food portions further small food menu.
The place is also accessible, with no entryway step, and two ways to enter and exit. I'm not saying I'll never come back, but I'm certainly not in a hurry to with sisters' sludge and fireroast as other...
