A little something about me: I am a serious f•o•o•d•i•e. Since words matter, what that means for me is that I’m very meh about mediocre food, and I absolutely LOVE great food! Of my favorite foods, when I want that special, decadent dessert, cheesecake is it. Almost always. So when we were planning a special celebratory bon voyage/Father’s Day combo, I needed a cheesecake. Wanting to support Black businesses, we called in an order to Cheesecake Funk. You guys. I am telling you right now, I’ve lived all over the country, and had cheesecake all over the country. This is THE one! This is THE Friends cheesecake, for real. Drop it and you’ll find yourself eating it off the floor, dignity be darned. The crust is prominent (sometimes it’s too thin and throws the ratio off) and perfection. The cheesecake itself is not too cream cheesy, sweet, but not overly. It’s more dense than the light and fluffy style, but not New York dense. It’s smooth, rich, and delectable. And then, I don’t know what in the world she does to make her whip cream so good, but I seriously could sit and eat the whole pint alone! It’s vanilla bean heaven. This cheesecake is addictive. Truly. I shared a slice with a friend and she picked up the phone and ordered one. 🤤 So folks, the next time you want to bring something to a party, or bring something special to ladies night, or maybe just had a rough week and want to treat yourself, call Miss Vanessa. I haven't tried cheesecake from a designated cheesecake bakery but I knew I was in for a treat. After all, a certain cheesecake chain restaurant may be good but sometimes you just need a local gem that freshly bakes the cheesecake with love. None of that frozen stuff!

I scheduled for a pick up of the 8 inch chocolate cheesecake and for a "mini" cheesecake, it was huge ! Didn't know what to expect because I tend to go with traditional cheesecake flavors but the chocolate in this was pertect. The chocolate sauce on top wasn't too runny and held its' shape well. The cheesecake itself was divine - not too rich or chocolate-y but just right. And the crust was crisp enough to not fall apart but still perfectly moist at the same time. Melt-in-your-mouth delicious. You bet I'll be buying more...

I have enjoyed Vanessa's Cheesecake Funk at Paisley Park, at Crave and I have ordered (and devoured) many cheesecakes. I order small cheesecakes for my daughter and for my parents and a large cheesecake, which I cut up in slices and freeze for those times when you need a little frozen piece of heaven. One of the new things you can order from Cheesecake Funk is a side container of whipped cream. Seriously. Get this. It is in a large quart container and filled to the top with creamy yummy goodness. If you look closely you can see little flecks of vanilla bean throughout. Just divine!

Ordering is incredibly easy. Order online and pick up at her commercial kitchen. Vanessa and her team are so friendly and positive. Cheesecake Funk needs to be not only enjoyed, but experienced - and this is an experience to remember!
