Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Minot

I took my wife out on date night. My mouth was still partly numb from the dentist so I wanted something simple to eat and chose what was advertised in the menu as a chicken tender platter with fries and coleslaw. What I got was 2 tablespoons of cabbage with absolutely no sauce of any kind, mediocre cold fries, and heavily breaded chicken nuggets that had very little meat in them. There were whole bites with nothing but breading. I paid about $12 for what would be a happy meal at Burger King. Any market in town has better and larger meatier chicken tenders at a lower price. My wife likes the food so I will go back again, but I don't think I will recommend it. This experience was too close to when I had the bourbon st chicken and shrimp. 5 or 6 small shrimp, a few ounces of chicken breast, and less than 2 small red potatoes. I should not be hungry when I finish my dinner! The nice thing about 3 inch chicken tenders is that they make my hands look huge! If you want good chicken tenders go to Reynolds Market in Sidney MT., or if you don't feel like leaving town Market Place and Cash Wise are good most days. Even Walmart has better chicken tenders.

Worse experience ever. Waitress was rude short and when I asked if I ch would get a paticular adult beverage, different from how they make it She straight up said No because of the amount of alcohol, which was a straight lie.The drink had no more alcohol than the Applebee version. Then I asked her to verify that, a different waiter said Sure we can no problem. It took them 23 minutes to make drink and serve, then it was undrinkable. Ordered Simple steak plate med rare Burger well well done with cheese and they burnt the steak and s er rved a pink pink pink burger. When I brought it to servers attention again she was rude and completely ignored my drink and the steak plates drink and just refilled my husbands . The manager came out and asked what I'd like to do wi ty h my cheese burger? I looked confused when she said 'did you want a whole new burger or for them to 'cook it" ? 26 minutes later they brought a new steak and new burger. Waitress continued to be rude and not refil drinks. Both steak and burger person have had stomach cramps and severe Diarrhea all day starting the next morning . Rude Incompetent And think they did something to our orders because the two others that were not sent back are feeling fine. About average. Service can get incredibly long if the kitchen is busy, I've worked food so I'm always patient about it so its not a knock from me. The food is just not worth the price or wait for most of the menu items. Why spend almost $20 for pasta here when Noodles and Company has more options and better quality for less Money? Sometime last year I think the wings got smaller and less flavorful, so why here instead of BWW or Wings and Rings?

Service is hit or miss too. I've had a server give me pushback when I asked for a to go while others bring it without me even asking. I've been ignored and waited over 15 minutes when they weren't busy, but I've had my food out to my table before 15 minutes as well. Just really really hit or miss.

As far as atmosphere, it's fine. Nothing spectacular but not awful. To put it in today's kids terms, it's about as mid as you can go.

P.S. The reason I'm finally making a review is I watched someone here dine and dash the other night. I don't remember who was their server but she was rightfully upset about it and was vocal with the other servers. I just wanna give her a shout out because she kept her head up and served us with a smile even through all the muck. Kudos...
