Honestly, I was seriously disappointed. I went with my mother to celebrate a family event and picked this restaurant out of all of the others in Minot because I am from the east coast and hold a high standard and expectation for this restaurant chain. I’ve never had a issue going into a longhorn steak house until this one. Please be aware I am normally not one for complaining as it normally gets you no where but at the end of this I plan on praising the one and any good thing about this experience. Okay, so first we entered the parking lot and it had trash all over the place, there was no parking near the entrance for handicapped people (the 2 handicap spaced was full by people with no handicap sticker, tag, or placard) so my handicapped mother had to walk across the parking lot and there was a green suv taking up two spaces closest to the door (we mentioned it and they did nothing)Second, we will skip this one until the end... Third, we was seated far from the entrance after obviously being able to see my mother had a walker and had oxygen on. When we was seated the server came over and gave us our bread and silverware rolled in napkins. Me knowing my mother has various health issues I inspected the silverware. The cloth napkins surround two forks and a sharp knife, upon inspecting said silverware we noticed all 4 of the forks was covered in dried on food and stains from its previous user and both knives had the same. It almost made us leave. It was like they didn’t even wash them. Just rolled them back up. We called the server over (I won’t mention her name here out of respect, but if a manager or corporate wants it I have it) and brought it to her attention and she just took them and walked away, didn’t say a word to us about it. No apology! Nothing! Meanwhile, my moms salad gets there and we have to wait for 10 minutes before new silverware arrives which was delivered by another female server who did apologize for the nasty silverware. So, we inspect this silverware and it looked freshly washed. (Side note: what ever happened to restaurants using a rag and watered down vinegar to remove wet spots after washing? It polished, cleans, and allows the servers to check each piece so that this doesn’t happen) Fourth, oh yes!!! It gets worse.... as my mother is eating her salad I noticed out small plates that came with the bread was stained with some kind of black burns almost like they had been held over direct flames. And the bread was hard as a rock! The butter was ice cold! Fifth, she ordered a flank steak (medium well) with French-fries and I ordered a prime rib (medium) with asparagus and rice pilaf. About 20 minutes go by, and our food got there. Again, delivered by another server. Sixth, as we inspected our food... we got even more angry. Her fries has been covered with salt... I mean... to the point when you pick up the fry the salt fell off... her having health issues she can’t eat large amounts of sodium. So I called over our server and politely asked for a replacement with no salt. That came back out after just a couple minutes which made me feel like it was already made and waiting. Any ways, by this time I have cut into my prime rib and it’s still bleeding... I mean, I’ve eaten many steaks and prime ribs in my day so I know the difference between juice and blood. The fat close to the meat was still uncooked and solid white. My mother’s meat was also raw in the middle. At this time I noticed... my rice Pilaf was not really rice pilaf at all... it was plain white rice with some green herbs added. And my asparagus was missing! At this point my mother was embarrassed and upset, so I didn’t say anything at the time. We have been here around 30 to 45 minutes at this point. And mind you... we have seen our server all of 3 times. Only one refill! And she never once cleared the table of our bread we said we didn’t want, empty cups, plates, and the dirty silverware... nothing. So we had to eat while the table was cluttered. The only good thing was the host! Joren, was amazing! I am...
Read moreIf anyone is looking for a career here I'd advise you to look elsewhere, the managers clearly have communication issues, not to mention they try to make you come to work on your days off and send you home the days you are scheduled for your shift, not to mention they like to give your scheduled shifts to others without talking with you about it. A lot of nepotism, there were a few times I messed up with not coming in for a shift but when I would call in they would tell me it's fine not to worry about it and then they would reprimand me for it later on, not to mention my partner was in a terrible accident which she's still recovering from and they know this, before I was fired I came in for my scheduled shift which they again gave to another worker, they sent me home and the next day of my scheduled shift they fired me. That week prior to firing me they asked me to come in on my days off and I said no, then the following day I was scheduled but due to my partner's inability to walk due to the pain she was in from an EMG I called in with more than enough time for them to find a replacement, and was told that it was ok and I hope she gets better. I wasn't going to leave her with 4 kids alone. It's been 2 weeks now and they have refused to pay me my last paycheck, I've even been in contact with the GM and he has yet to respond and is continuing to ignore my messages. I will be contacting the BBB and the ND Department of labor I've told them that I would contact them if I wasn't paid my last check. I worked for them for over 6+ months, was given a promotion and raise yet it was never put on my checks, they have a history of not putting my correct hours on my checks, we were paid weekly. Definitely think before working here, at first they treated me good but when I didn't do what they always asked they began to mistreat me especially when I didn't want to come on my days off of work. At times I'd ask them to clock me in they didn't. Recently called and they continue...
Read moreIt took my friends (who had invited me out since I'm pregnant and they weren't able to throw me a baby shower) over an hour and a half to get a table, then when we were finally seated it took an additional one and a half hours to get our salads (which weren't that good, I can get better Caesar salad in a supermarket) I ordered the 8 oz Sirloin Medium Rare with a large baked potato with the Parmesan crusted asparagus as an appetizer. At the very last minute, they inform me that they've run out of asparagus over an hour ago...why then, did you let me order it? Do the cooks not communicate with the wait staff? After that news, I knew the night wasn't going to end well, and I was right. My steak came out cold and RARE. Like the cook just stuck the steak on the grill right out of the fridge for a few seconds on each side and put it on my plate. I asked if I didn't like my steak how long it would take to get a new one done right, and the waiter says "An hour." So I ate it, and I'm sick from it, cause we had been there for over three hours waiting for our food and I wasn't going to hold my friends back by making them wait another hour just so I could get a new steak. They all saw my steak and asked me how I could eat it. I had no choice I'm a hungry pregnant woman and any other option would make them wait an hour or more. RIDICULOUS!
This place is a joke. It may be new, but it's the worst place I've been to, and they didn't even try to make it right with us. It's not worth the lengthy wait. It's best to forgo this place and go to Montana Mike's. They're better in my opinion that this place ever could be.
I won't be back, ever. Once was enough for me. I should also mention we never got bread or anything. It was first time ever coming to a LongHorn, and it...
