My wife and I decided to try a new place tonight.

Cielito Lindo was having their Wednesday $1 tacos. You can order them as Mexican Style (corn tortilla w/diced onions and cilantro) or American Style (flour tortilla w/onions and lettuce). There are six different flavors: chorizo, pork, shredded chicken, fried chicken, chipotle chicken and ground beef. Since this was our first visit we ordered one of each, Mexican style, to share. We requested the onions and cilantro on the side so we could season the tacos to taste.

Cut to the chase, ALL of the taco flavors are very good! My wife favored the chorizo and shredded chicken tacos. I favored the pork and the chipotle chicken tacos. Mine were very flavorful. Also, I recommend using the green sauce. It was the perfect level of heat without inteferring with the flavor of the tacos. Bonus, the Mexican Style tacos use TWO corn tortillas. I think this is brilliant. No breakage during consumption. LOL. Honestly, these are probably the best $1 tacos I've ever had.

The place is clean and well lit. We met the owner, Maria, who was very warm and welcoming, as was all of the staff. We greatly enjoyed the Mexican music that was playing, though, not so much the action movie that was playing on one of the TVs at the same time. It didn't add to the experience.

Maria said they have been open for one year. She also mentioned they will be getting their beer license soon, possibly this weekend. Maria hopes the place becomes a family gathering place. She mentioned that carryout is available, as we noticed a doordash person picking up an order. Note: off-street parking is ample.

I'm giving the Cielito Lindo Restaurant five stars. We really like it and plan to try other dishes too. We will...

This was our second and last visit to this place. The waitress not only did not communicate the $1 taco deals clearly, but also went defensive when we talked with her about it at checkout, claimed we interrupted her which is not true, and claimed the menu states the taco types that are $1. When we asked her to show us the menu to see where it stated the what tacos were $1, she brought one menu with a white adhesive paper with a small list. Neither of our original menus had that white paper on top of the menu. When we complained, she said it was our fault, that all customers "should know" and that if the paper was not on the menu she would take note for next time, but that it was our fault and no discount or anything would be done. We did not care about the discount, but the nerve to blame us and not recognize she did not communicate there were only a limited set of taco options at $1, that were not specified in the menus she brought is what we find unbelievable. Not to mention when she lost the menu argument she claimed my wife was yelling, which she never did. The waitress, though, did raise her voice and lost her nerves at the end, which is when we just left after paying and mentioned we would simply leave a proper review for...

One of the reasons we made a trip out to this area was because a friend told us about their $1 Taco Wednesdays. I love tacos and am frugal just as much, that we planned our trip around being in this region on Wednesday just to check it out!

Of course, where they GET you is having a crazy unusual menu of loaded Mexican potato's, pizzas, and loaded Mexican fries each around $14.

So we tried a loaded potato with steak, guac, sour cream, and cheese. They put in PLNETY of butter and it was rich and delicious.

But, the main event - TACOS. I tried 2 pork and 2 chorizo. Pork was ok. My wife had a few others and the beef seemed to be the worst (almost like just cooked beef with no seasoning). But she loved their shredded chicken (good flavor) and I LOVED their Chorizo for sure.

I'd love to come back just for those and to try the pizza or loaded fries.

Also good Horchata and the wheat wheels are fun as an IDEA but not in their execution here. I've had them fresh and seasoned and they are great. These were a bit stale and no seasoning or dip to go with them.

They've got a great selection of ice cream and such but we just didn't have...

They have a very fun and colorful atmosphere here. Instead of chips and salsa, they serve Duros de Harina. I was a fan of them, but they may not be for everyone. Next up, I tried three of their tacos - shredded chicken, ground beef, and chorizo. I loved the shredded chicken and their chorizo, but I wasn't a fan of their ground beef as it tasted like an unseasoned hamburger patty. Not even their salsas were enough to salvage that taco. Still, the other two were quite good. Lastly, I tried their Asada Potatoes. Oh, man! The buttery potatoes paired perfectly with their steak! So good! Highly recommend!

My friends and I stopped here for a midnight dinner and talk. The service was amazing and super attentive! They worked hard to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was great too! We had the horchata, elote, and tacos with chicken and steak. The free chips and salsa/queso were good as well.
