My extended family & I now on our 4th generation of enjoying West End Bakery for most of our many celebrations over the decades has never disappointed. For over a week now I have been trying to order under the new owners a 70th wedding anniversary cake for my parents but with no luck. The first time I called the employee was very sweet but explained they were out of the ordering tickets and to please call back. With the bakery being closed Monday and Tuesday I've tried calling now throughout Wednesday and this morning Thursday. The phone rings and rings with no voicemail and no one picks up. I realize the bakery can be very busy yet they must realize there are customers who can't get there in person and wish to use their establishment. I have time yet to place the order as plans are just being finalized for this happy milestone celebration! I'm hoping for better luck. Read moreWhen I arrived at the bakery the cake I ordered had been sitting out all day. They gave me a box not even large enough to fit the entire cake inside of it, which ended up smashing the sides. However this wasn't even the most frustrating part of my experience. The woman at the register had told me make sure you lay it on a flat surface and as long as you have air conditioning it doesn't need to be refrigerated. I place the cake in the trunk of the car, when I arrived home the cake had lost the majority of the rosette frosting. I called the bakery to ask what I might be able to do to fix. The woman I spoke to was extremely excusatory. I mentioned I had followed all of her instructions. The service and product I received was extremely disappointing. Read moreI ordered 2 cakes for a baby shower for June 4th 2017 I picked them up & I asked if I needed to refrigerate them, she said no. I carefully transported them to the shower when we arrived the top of the cake had slid off when cutting it later on there were little sticks in it & a big split that had obviously been there & they had tried to hide it. The next day I called there, the woman on the phone said management would call me back Tues or Wed of last week, they never called. Today I called them & management wouldn't get on the phone & told the girl to tell me "once the cake leaves the premises there's nothing they can do!"
