This was a 5 star review that abruptly turned into a 3.
-1 for having one single-occupancy restroom for all patrons to share -1 for the complete unconcern about the fly in my MIL's salad
I don't think I need to explain why a lone restroom for an entire restaurant is a terrible idea. You can determine whether you want to roll those dice or not.
The fly was extra problematic because it was in the otherwise delicious house salad, which has dried cherries. And it looked very much like a dried cherry.
We notified the waitress, who notified management, who... did nothing. They didn't even comp the premium side $1.50 upcharge - though the standard response is to comp the meal and it's weird that they didn't. It ruined an otherwise delightful meal, made us reconsider ever returning when we'd planned on being regulars, and of course now they're getting this review instead of the glowing one I'd intended.
I'll go ahead and tell you what I liked about this place though, since that seems only fair.
The house salad is way more interesting than most, and even though you might accidentally eat a fly, you can get it as your side salad for a nominal upcharge.
All of the burgers are delicious. They clearly use great ingredients, they're more interesting that your standard burger (though you can get that too), the buns are even fantastic.
Fantastic starters. I don't usually get starters, but both the sidewinder fries and the goat cheese fritters are phenomenal.
Reasonably comfortable chairs. They went for comfort over something that would fit the aesthetic and I'm SO grateful. Even though the chairs would be more at home in a blue hair cafe, at least I'm not suffering on a piece of metal that cuts into my hips or a wooden bench. I love a restaurant that looks nice, but even more, I love to not feel like I'll need a whole body massage to recover from where I sat at lunch.
The waitress was super friendly. I don't need my server to be particularly friendly, but this one was and she was also very good about keeping our drinks filled, which we appreciated.
One downside that I wouldn't have dinged a star for was how LONG the wait for our food was. It took an eternity and the restaurant was not...
Read moreThis was my first time eating here. We arrived around 1:30 on Sunday, and right away it was clear something was very wrong. Management left the entire front of house to one person and the entire kitchen to one cook. By the time the place filled up, it was chaos and the blame falls squarely on management.
Management here should honestly be embarrassed. Leaving two people to run an entire restaurant during a busy Sunday is beyond careless it’s lazy, cheap, and completely unfair to their staff and customers.
The only reason things didn’t completely collapse is because Leah and the cook gave everything they had. Leah was running herself into the ground, somehow managing to bartend, take orders, clean tables , and run food all at once, while still treating guests with professionalism and kindness. The cook kept food coming out of the kitchen under impossible conditions. These two are the kind of employees every business dreams of having, but frankly, they deserve far better management than this place provides.
The hard truth is simple: no restaurant can succeed with leadership this incompetent. Any management that thinks two people can run a full house is unfit to be in charge of a lemonade stand, let alone a restaurant. It’s disgraceful, it’s disrespectful, and it’s driving the place into the ground. The staff are the only thing keeping this restaurant alive, and unless management wakes up or gets replaced it won’t be long before even the best employees...
Read moreThis is an amazing location, when you can get service. When I came in, saw the seat yourself sign. Locked my car doors via app which is how I know how long I've been sitting here without being greeted, acknowledged, or anything of the sort. I was here so I decided to see how long it would be.
Total time was 36 minutes before the owner, as shown in their response, called in to correct the issue. I was apologized to and told by the server she was new and of course, the owners reply about the blind spot is understandable. I won't hold a singular lapse too heavily against anyone.
Now, on to the review! Because we aren't just here to criticize!
The Wing Mac with White Cheddar Beer Cheese and BBQ is exquisite as always. I have occasionally been in when the wings were a little overdone but this time it was perfect.
I tried the loaded fries, though I find myself neutral on them. This was my first time ordering them, and I am particular about fries so all in all if someone enjoyed them they would be spectacular, just not my preferred kind.
The Jarritorita, a curious combination of margarita and soda, is... Interesting. I enjoy a heavier salt/tajin on the rim so the taste was underwhelming, but I attribute this to personal preference and not the drink having any failures. It was enjoyable for what it tries to do.
Photos included, with the exception of the Wing Mac which mysteriously was inhaled as soon as it...
