I visited this place a while ago and was pleasantly surprised by their quality of food and service. We (a colleague, my husband and I) went there for lunch and they had buffet. We were seated first in booths and then asked buffet or a la carte. Alot of people go there for lunch buffet simply because they have a good range of vegetarian and non veg options. The food is fresh and hot/warm. They have plain naan bread or tandoori roti and plain rice along atleast 8-10 dishes. I believe there were 4-5 vegetarian options and 3-4 chicken/mutton (I don't think they had fish or shrimp) options. One from each is an appetizer too.

The food is a bit buttery and creamy like you would expect from an Indian restaurant. It maybe mellowed for american customers..I'm not big into spicy so this place was perfect. Atleast the buffet items were not spicy. So, if you're craving indian comfort food ..you must try! They also had three dessert options... And I tried all their desserts. Gulab jamun and halwa are much better than if you see anything fusion, like a custard... They also have tea or masala chai I believe. But ofcourse, if you'd like to add anything else, you can order a la carte and adjust the spicy levels.

During covid I believe the only option you have is pickup. I have not tried going to the restaurant during this pandemic I have gone repeatedly to the milan store actually to get my groceries (indian) and they pretty much have frozen and ready to eat meals too if you want to store it at home and eat later on. You could experiment at home if you're scared to try something at the restaurant. And ofcourse, ask any questions you'd like if you're uncertain about buying.

The interiors are nice and clean and the servers/hosts speak English, so do not hesitate to enter and ask questions regarding food. There is plenty of parking outside and no wifi inside. I would give the food 4 stars, interiors 3.5 stars and service 4 stars. Easy way to locate is there is a food truck with lots of graphics standing right outside the grocery store... And if not, then it's opposite to the plaza that has cold stone. Hope you can try and enjoy...

India Garden is my restaurant of choice in Mishawaka!!! The staff is kind and loving. Peace is in the air and harmony abounds. I eat in this restaurant at least once a week if not two or three times. It smells like heaven and all the food is absolutely amazing. Everything is made from fresh and high quality ingredients. No grissly weird food in this place! The quality meat and spices shows in every tasty bite. You won't find any other quality like this in the area. Even when I am watching my weight I frequent this place because i know the food is made of natural ingredients that are not processed. Everything in the place (besides the mango pudding with fruit cocktail) is unprocessed fresh food made from the finest meat and vegetables. They make their own cheese ( paneer) and yogurt. All of the sauces are made from vegetables and spices. there is no such thing as Indian fast food and It is made fresh everyday!! Wonderful, delicious, exotic!! After writing this review I feel the need for some Chicken Tikka Marsala!! My personal recommendations is to go to the lunch buffet any day from 11 to 3. It is very low cost for such extremely high quality and you will have a great eating experience you will never forget and want to repeat again...

Update 05/12/2024

Took mom here for Mother's Day and got the Buffet. Everything was delicious, as usual, and got to try some stuff that would have taken me a long time to get to otherwise. And although everything WAS delicious, the Chicken Tika Masala was still the best of it all!

The only drawback is that as it was a buffet, we took no leftovers home. (I assume they don't do leftovers for the buffet, that's pretty standard buffet rules.) But such is the nature of the buffet. And since the buffet was $25 each, the total (with tip) was $58. So it was almost the same as two meals, 2 bread orders and 2 Mango Lassi drinks. (Those Lassi's are pretty great, but EXPENSIVE!)

Absolutely delicious!

I had the Chicken Tandorri, and it was really great, but the real show stopper was what my mother got, the Chicken Tikka Masalla!

Also the Indian Tea was good, and the Mango Shakes were very tastey! It's not REALLY a shake, it would need to be frozen for that. It's just a cool mango drink with milk or cream.

The only bad thing was the price. Now I'm an old guy, but over $60 for two people seems pretty steep to me.

But I guess it was...

This is a gem of a restaurant. We have not had the opportunity to make the lunch buffet, we've only had dinner service. Everything we've ever gotten has been out-of-this-world delicious. Our favorite is definitely goat curry, but when I'm sharing my meal with my baby, I opt for the chicken Tikka masala because it isn't spicy at all. It's just a bonus that it is one of the better Tikka masalas I've had. My 10- month-old, with just two teeth, has no trouble gobbling up the tender chicken. The sample platter is great to get a feel for different appetizers. Samosas are always a hit with our family. The kids really love (and fight over) the paneer pakora, which is just cheese fried with chickpea batter. Simple but outstanding. For dessert do not skip the rice pudding or mango pudding! The staff has always been so kind and helpful. Our waiters have been young and very eager to get us anything we need. They have all been masked, and are possibly the most courteous servers we've ever had.

Update 12/7/22- another visit, another great experience. Punjabi wings were good (would have liked a little more salt) Chicken tandoori, Garlic Naan, vegetable samosa and sauce were flavorful, spicy but not overpowering, fast service, clean restrooms. Never disappointed (yet). We’ve been here at least 5-6 times over the last few years and the food is always amazing. Lentils, Punjabi chicken wings, tandoori chicken, Tikka masala, non vegetarian Thali, mango shake, mango juice tastes like the (Jumex) have all been cooked to perfection. The lamb had good flavor but tasted more like beef, but my wife said it was good. The goat was flavorful and tender. Clean restrooms. Service was slow but like all places, they seemed to be short staffed.
