TL;DR Decent Service and good food. Will return.
First we love the atmosphere with the brick terrace and the fountain ⛲️ in the center. The decor is bright and colorful with banners that sway in the breeze from the A/C unit which was on full blast. It’s definitely working well and it was a little humid outside so I was ok with being a little chilled inside anyhow. My husband was wearing a T shirt but I kept my hoodie on and snuggled up to him when I got too cold.
Our waitress was prompt in helping us get drinks (she did bring mine with ice which I asked for none but it happens a lot) right away despite it being very busy with a packed parking lot. Hubby was happy they had Lime Jarritos and I was happy they had Sprite. There was no wait for our table either and we were taken straight to a booth. It is noisy but it is a family atmosphere and they had Star Wars on one of the TVs that I could see but you definitely couldn’t hear it. Being that Star Wars Day and Cinco de Mayo just passed this week, it makes sense.
We were very hungry after a 6 hour round trip to a comic con but we couldn’t seem to decide what we wanted. We started with complimentary chips and I didn’t like the white dip. We got the spinach and chicken dip which my husband said he wished he could marinate chicken like that. I couldn’t seem to taste the marinade to it but my sinuses were bothering me. I would best describe it as a sort chicken Alfredo taste and creaminess which kinda confused my brain when I paired it with crunchy chips but it was good! This is why the picture shows it basically gone because we just dug in and I forgot about the picture until it was too late. I filled up so much on that that I didn’t have much room for my food.
I ordered the Texas fajitas and asked if it came with Spanish rice and the waitress looked a little confused and said what other rice would it be, it’s yellow. Which I instantly knew it wasn’t what I was hoping for, but hoped I was wrong. I was correct it wasn’t the taste I was looking forward to. It was okay but not the almost tomato sauce red coated rice I’ve become used to and crave. I felt like the fajitas were good but not seasoned a lot (started to wonder if that’s just me with my sinuses again) and I was quickly full but happy to have some for later.
Hubby had the Chipotle Chicken Burrito and managed to eat half before he was full and he ate more dip and chips than I did.
We ended with Fried Ice Cream hoping to get true fried ice cream to share on our date night. It was fried ice cream this time! I saw the tortilla bowl and got nervous, but then saw it was really what we wanted. I almost didn’t get a picture but remembered in time. I believed I had one more crisp and rice like on the coating before, but this was a delicious mix of crisp and soggy fried cornflakes. Which sounds gross but it’s so good! We shared it together and split the last bite… perfect ending to the meal.

Read moreOur family of five ate at Salsa's several months ago. The waiter was not very good at all. We asked for jalepeños, not green peppers in our fajitas, corn tortillas, not flour tortillas but did the server catch any of those details...nope! He wasn't apologetic at the mistake nor did he attempt to rectify the situation in a timely manner. When we did finally received our jalepeños (which were brought to us on a seperate plate) the server placed the very hot plate loaded with fried jalepeños right in front of my toddler. Thankfully my husband reacted quick enough and moved the hot plate out of her reach. He then came back with our corn tortillas (by then most of our food was cold). As I proceeded to take a bite of my tortilla my husband stopped me from eating it to tell me that my tortilla had MOLD on it. All three of the tortillas in my package had mold on them. How the cooks didn't catch that is beyond me. Once again we notified the waiter of the issue, his response was, "uhhh....i wonder how that happened?" He brought us a new order of tortillas but at that point our appetites were gone. We asked for the check, after eating almost nothing on our plates. The server brought us our check and never once apologized for all the inconveniences or even offered to talk to the manager about possibly offering a discount for the poor quality of the food and service. So,I took my check to the cashier and asked to speak with the manager. I explained the situation to her (terrible wait service, moldy tortillas). Her initial response to me was, "oh, we make our tortillas fresh everyday." Please, woman! I know a homemade tortilla and what they're selling is more on the lines of a package of El Milagro tortillas that cost $1.49 at the mexican store. After about a 10 minute talk she finally offered to discount our $54.00 meal by 20% (mind you we didn't even eat 3/4 of the fajitas, nor the tortillas). I paid the balance and left NO TIP.
Oh did I forget to mention the waiter came up to me while I was waiting to speak with the manager and asked me If he had done something wrong? Poor kid, he was oblivious to the poor quality of his work.
I don't recommend this...
Read moreThe place was beautiful we loved it, they have their own bar area but it was kinda little, anyway, we were not gonna sit there because we had a baby with us. The first thing that we had was chips and salsa, they have 2 types of dips, the tomato salsa which it was too watery tbh, and it didn’t have a lot of flavor and a queso dip -I think- I liked this one a lot. They have a big variety of meals, but the menu for alcohol doesn’t have the price on it, I don’t know but I like to know how much I’m paying for my drink. I wasn’t gonna get anything like that but my mom and my brother were trying to get something fun, but everybody got coke product…. Anyway, our first plate was queso fundido, this one has chorizo, it was good, I was expecting another kind of cheese, but they put I think mozzarella melted with something else… this one doesn’t come with anything, we thought we were gonna get tortillas but we didn’t so we ate it with chips… last thing we got was the mix fajitas for 2, THIS ONE IS BIIIIG, it was carnitas, steak, chicken and shrimp, but let me tell you that we found like 5-6 shrimps at most, and I would like to say that we love it but it was a little bit tasteless, so we had to put some salt on… it comes with two salads (lettuce and tomato), 6 tortillas -which I don’t think it’s enough lmao— black beans and sour cream. This could be enough for 3-4 people to be honest. And one think, we didn’t ask but we thought they were gonna have more variety on their salsas, since the name is “salsa” but they just have the...
