Where do I start? This was our first time here (11/15/18 7:30pm or so)and this was a date night for me and my wife. The restaurant is beautiful, there are a lot of rooms, the lights, decor create a very pleasant and casual ambiance. The greeter was friendly and showed excellent customer service. Our server took our drink order and we got our drinks(Pepsi products for a change 😀)but then received the wrong appetizer (we asked for beef nachos but got the chicken nachos. she did apologize but now we had to wait even longer) At $11, the nachos are overpriced even for this type of restaurant. The beef nachos were flavorful but could have used more cheese. We ordered the entrees (manicotti, Reuben sandwich and wheat chicken penne pesto pasta). The manicotti was good. We have had better. The Reuben sandwich(and I’m from NY) was not good at all. The corn beef didn’t have that strong flavor you expect, there wasn’t enough sauce, and there was very little sauerkraut and barely any Swiss cheese. I ate half thinking maybe It was my taste buds but even my wife who doesn’t like corn beef tasted it and said it had no flavor. The pesto pasta was perfect. Rich flavors, the right amount of pesto and a generous portion. The chicken was ok. It could have used a bit more flavor without overpowering the pesto flavor. On the flip side there was a generous amount of chicken but I don’t think it was worth the extra $5. The house dressing(vinaigrette) was amazing. Full of flavor with the perfect amount of sweetness. The cheese cubes and cranberries were a very nice addition to the salad, kudos to whomever prepares the salad, great job). We never received the bread that comes with the entree (realized this after we left), The server gave us our boxes and check without asking if we were interested in desserts. I could hear the server on the other side(she was a young pregnant lady)go over the dessert menu with her guests. We asked for a dessert menu and ordered the white chocolate raspberry cake. The cake was cold. It hurt my teeth that’s how cold it was: the frosting was hard and we couldn’t really taste the cake that much. While other guests received a bag for their boxes we did not. I had to ask another server for a bag and she promptly got it for us(I left a small tip for her) The only reason I give it 3 instead of 2 stars is because the other staff were very helpful, friendly and attentive: for the most part the food we ordered was good but the white chocolate being cold, the Reuben lacking flavor and the lack of attention to detail and poor customer service ruined our experience. We did not leave a generous tip (25%+) like we normally do and I felt bad for it. However, customer service is my area of expertise and I don’t tolerate poor customer service well. I hope this is addressed with this staff member. Maybe she needs more training. She did refill our drinks as needed and got the rest of our order correct (minus the bread) so...
Read moreI took my mother to this establishment on 5/12/2013. What an error. She preferred a buffet so I canceled the reservation at The Capri, a neighbor of this place and a far superior restaurant in the area, We arrived here and were led to a table in the middle of what appeared to be a hallway. When asked to me moved to a neighboring booth we were curtly told they are all reserved. REALLY! So my reservation made three weeks prior doesn't count. STRIKE ONE! So we make the best of it an set at this fake marble/granite top table with broken legs yet and are "greeted" coldly by are "server" who seemed dis-connected and a little to haughty for her surroundings. She with a scowl took are drink order, two ice teas, which by the way was so strong I think it walked itself to the table. And in her best trailer court way told us to help are selves. We got in line and "helped are selves" to the offerings. What little there was. scrambled eggs, tasteless, cold, some red-skinned potatoes also cold with some odd herb so heavily coated that's all you tasted and still had no flavor and I would bet a dollar they were frozen food service garbage. Some cold crepes with a cold cut wrapped around raw asparagus dried tasteless turkey breast and some odd beef being passed off as tenderloin also cold and no flavor. Lasagna, blah, no flavor, cold, I think you get the picture. I guess the icing on the cake was while half way through the "meal" the troglodyte waitress, not server waitress who on closer inspection looked like she needed a shower and some sleep. presents the check. Nice! So all an all it was a lack luster event at least it was cheap! I remember when I was at Notre Dame this family had the sandwich place on Niles Av. with the subs in a basket and neon cheese with the bread sticks and stale potato chips. They need to stick with sandwich and beer and leave the fine dining to some one who has a clue! Its not surprising I have never heard of anything out if this place. Local must stay away, and my advice...
Read moreHORRIBLE service! Went at 3pm on a Saturday, was only a handful of people there. Waited a ridiculous amount of time for someone to show up at the host stand to seat the people who were waiting when we got there (and they were upset at the wait), then the guy who seated them never came back for us. Finally an older lady showed up, dawdled around before showing the host in training where to seat us. We waited another 20 minutes with nobody attending to us all, no silverware, no drinks. We saw one waiter the whole time who attended briefly to another table and then took a drink order for a couple who arrived much later than us. He didn't even look at us or come close enough for me to get his attention. There was another table of ladies next to us that had been there even longer than we were and they were clearly waiting a long time to be served and were upset as well. We got tired of waiting and just walked out, nobody even noticed and we didn't see any other employees in the restaurant on our way out. There was several people waiting at the host stand when we left and again nobody was there to seat them. Thought this was going to be a classier place to have a nice meal but on top of the lack of staff, the entranceway was dirty (dried gunk dripping all down the hostess stand front and a tablecloth with the inside corner flipped over showing the whole thing was covered in tomato sauce). The eating area is also next to a bar with large TV's and several men whooping and hollering at a football game so loud we had to stop our conversation at times. Definitely not the atmosphere we were expecting. Not surprised they had several hiring signs posted at the entrance, should have...
