I came in to get an appraisal on a wedding band for our 30 year anniversary. I wanted to pay for an appraisal and asked if he could make a duplicate ring for our youngest daughter. I met Mark, and he was the rudest most condescending person I have ever encountered. He looked over the ring and stated “I will decline to appraise this ring for you”. He did not elaborate why he would not appraise it. He told me to go back to the jeweler that sold it and have them make me one. He then went on to insult me by stating that the diamonds were probably lab grown and that my story was suspicious (like I had ill intent). I have never felt so unwelcome in my life. I asked him why he felt the stones were lab grown? I asked if they could be tested He said “the machine that can test them costs $50,000” and he won’t buy the machine. He said most smaller stones are lab grown but jewelers don’t put serial numbers on the smaller ones. My wife’s band has nearly 3 karats in it. At the end of our conversation he rudely gave me the names of two other jewelry stores to ask about making the ring. I would not recommend him unless you are ready to be...
Read moreWe decided to check out Mark's shop after reading the good reviews. However, it turned out to be more than unpleasant. We had 3 inquiries. Even though we got the info we needed at last, Mark answered us in the most unfriendly way possible, to the point that I almost began to worry whether he had a personal problem with us. He started answering all of our questions with no I don't do that. And then followed up with oh wait I actually do do that, but it costs this much and your stone is not worth it (it was an over $5000 stone and we were inquiring about a $2000) service. When we asked about a piece of jewelry that we were interested in, he simply answered: Did you read the description? We did notice though, that he was nice to the two ladies that came in after us, and we were very sad and disappointed that we got treated differently for no reason. Even though I liked his selection of jewelry, and the price that he finally quoted us after talking down to us seemed reasonable, we regret to say we will never consider doing...
Read moreI came there with my wife on our wedding day with the intention to size my wife's ring correctly and buy a band for myself. He is an older gentleman. Sarcastic funny dismissive condescending. I don't buy jewelry on the regular. I trusted that he knew what he was doing. My band keeps falling off my finger and I almost lost it to the sink multiple times. 3 weeks later I came to his shop and told them about the problem. He told me the only thing I could do is buy another ring. He said that because it is titanium that there's no way that he could make it smaller. He did not offer any return replacement or discount for another band. He did not even apologize for sizing the band wrong. He is a crooked and unremorseful for his mistakes and not an honorable man who makes his mistakes right. Avoid him...
