Wooden Shoe — Restaurant in Mishawaka

So let me start with an observation that many reviewers have left out, perhaps they assume everyone smokes. We don't and it's important that smoking is mentioned right away. This bar does allow smoking inside, everywhere. all the time. So if you don't like smoke in the air while you eat skip this place because that's what you'll get.

That being said, some people want to smoke in the bar and eat just fine amidst it. That is the Wooden Shoe target market. The wife and I don't smoke but we were working near by and didn't have time to choose another place after we chose this place via the good reviews that don't mention smoking.

Also not mentioned often in a review is when the visit being reviewed happened. Ours was lunch on a Friday.

Beer is cheap, owners were nice, place was very quite though there were over a dozen customers eating, dining and smoking at the bar, the fan was the loudest thing inside, we sat next to it and the door. Enjoyed our beers (half pitchers of domestic for $3.50), ordered the shoe cheese burger and a chicken sandwich with fries watched them get cooked in the back kitchen.

There is an ATM if you don't have cash.

The burger had a large rhick patty, it was good, some will like that the bun immediately disolves, lol. The chicken burger was also juicy and good.

Just as we were prepparing to leave and finish writing this review at turned 1pm a lady showed up for work, turned on music and drank a beer. She changed the feel for the better... I'll add a half star to my review.

3.5 stars, that aint bad for...

Went here for about a decade regularly. Faron hired a rude Bartender Latassia and that made the service terrible. Lisa and Melissa are the backbone of the establishment. I loved the bar until the owner allowed the Pretentious Bartender Latassia to bar me for speaking my mind when she kicked me out after I broke up an argument and she took my drink and I got barred. 5 years ago the bar was great. Now it's a bunch of two faced trouble makers ruining the places "cheers" qualities. It's a shame. I cared about the bar and the environment but one bad apple spoils the rest I guess. If you do go I'd suggest sitting at a table if Latassia is still working there. No hard Feelings Faron...but you could have stuck up for me and told her to let it go but she even went to the lengths now to message me and harass me on social media threatening me and causing drama at other...

Wow....it's been a while since I've come to this establishment. Was greeted by friends and the waitress, wasn't told cooler was broken and was offered a cold glass to put beer in. 15 mins later after she was done talking to her a take it husband and friends at the other end of bar I got it. I ordered food, the special, tacos. Which are really good. But 45 mins later when I asked, she said oh let me check....as she obviously forget, watch people come in and order food and get it before my food. This is just wrong on so many levels. I can't believe the owners would let their place of good business suffer so much. Sad. I won't be returning for quite some time if at all. And I suggest and will tell anyone I know to...
