I wanted to try this as I see a lot of cars in their parking lot, I thought "must be good". I admit I only tried one item on their menu, but that was enough, I won't go back. I was quickly seated. Chips and salsa were delivered to the table. Chips seemed almost baked, salsa tasted like Pace picante straight out of a jar. Not much flavor. I decided to try their chili rellano, but was told it was really just ground beef and cheese with some bell pepper in it. (What??) So opted for what they called their "tipico" which was a cheese stuffed poblano pepper, battered and fried. When it came it was smothered in queso and was extremely greasy. Read moreWe flew to Yankton from Omaha to hike at lewis clark lake for the day. After hiking we went to Mexico Viejo for a late lunch. The decor was nice in a mexico theme. The booths were cozy for us and perfect for a date. The service was excellent. The waiter was very friendly and very attentive. We ordered the beef enchiladas and just shared a plate because we were not super hungry and beans and rice and chips and salsa and everything was perfect. Just what we had hoped for. We'll definitely go back next time we're in Yankton...
