Perkins American Food Co. — Restaurant in Mission Hill South Township

We went to Perkins for dinner on Father's Day. There were some families in couples sitting at tables but the restaurant was not full by any means. There appear to be four or five people working in the dining rooms. For most of the time there was no one behind the counter to take people's money.

We waited 10-15 minutes to have our order taken. Then we waited another 45-50 minutes for food. My husband finally had to leave because he needed to be somewhere at a certain time. We asked the waiter to just box his food and we would take it when we finish the meal.

During the wait time we got our beverages but no napkins or utensils. When the food finally arrived we had to ask for utensils and wait another few minutes to get them.

One sandwich had not been made according to the description in the menu. Syrup did not come out with the food and rather than waiting, we took some off another table because those customers had left. In fact, the people who left that table waited for an extended period of time at the front desk for someone to come and ring up their bill.

Our waiter kept coming out and telling us and the people around us that are food was going to be out soon. His excuses became annoying. We felt sorry for him because we didn't know if the backup in the kitchen was his fault. However, he could have brought the napkins, utensils, syrup, and condiments to our table during the extended wait time so that we could begin to eat once the food came.

The manager came over and talked to us and was very nice. We were given our meal for free, which we appreciated. However, my husband was unable to eat dinner with his family on Father's Day.

We weren't the only people who were frustrated by the experience. There were a few other families and couples who sat and waited forever, too. I have always liked Perkins but I don't know how this restaurant can stay in business when the service is that slow.

My wife and myself come in regularly, every Sunday, but yesterday will be the last time ever, unless management changes. We came in to a fairly busy restaurant, which we are use to. We know it will be a wait and that is fine. We ask to sit in either one of our favorite servers sections. We were told neither one of them worked there anymore, which should of been our first sign to leave, but we decided stayed anyways. Got seated took over 15 minutes to get someone to our table. As we waited we could hear someone yelling in the kitchen at everyone the whole time, when our slow and probably drunk server showed up, she stated that was the manager in the back yelling. Food took over an hour to get out, and that might not of been to big of a deal if server came back to get drinks or even noticed we were still there. Food came out wrong and cold, when asked to speak to manager after finally getting someone's attention about 10 minutes and flagging them down. Lori, the manager, was the most unprofessional person I have ever meet. Instead of apologizing or making things right for us she went into a 20 minute rant about how it was the servers that disrespected her this morning and walked out fault. She continued to talk badly about the servers saying they didn't like her new rules and how great she is and what a great job she's doing here. If we would of never asked for management, and had not had to listen to Lori try to praise herself and belittle other people, I might of been able to overlook everything that was wrong today and given this place another chance. But after hearing her or twenty minutes I will not step foot into this place as long as she is there. Will never go back. Have went here twice in the span of a month. The first time was not a great experience, but we thought they might be short staffed and decided to give them a second chance. The service was the worst!

It takes forever to get your drinks, and don't drink them too fast because you won't be offered a refil. One of our party of 4 had to ask for one after being empty for 30 minutes and halfway through in his food, and when she agreed to get it she didn't even ask the rest of us who were almost empty as well.

We were brought plates that were literally dripping wet. She apologized as she handed them out, but we had to dry them with our napkins as that was how wet I'm talking. They never did bring us utensils and napkins, we had to steal them from another table.

The food takes forever to come out and it made one of our party very sick right afterwards. The eggs were bad. And the food was very dry. We had to request many things as the waitress walked by since never brought them out with our food- ketchup for our fries, syrup for our pancakes, etc. When we left, a table next to us had finally gotten their drinks after a 15 min wait and were unhappy as we were.
