Del Taco — Restaurant in Mission Viejo

11/20/24 3:30am. Myself and 4 other vehicles waiting at drive-thru for an long time, the guy in a white Dodge truck knocked on the window then got out and same at all the doors another 15-20min still no one, all lights are noticed fries that had been maid in the stainless warmer. It's been the most dependable location, along with foothill and Lake Forest, until now... It's been getting steadily not as great over the past 9 months as it used to be the past decade. There was a white sedan parked in front when I drove in the lot noticed it's gone after doing some work in the car, the employees are hiding or left. Nothing else is open post COVID we all got out and talked you need to go to Anaheim to find another 24/7 food to order without Del Tacos people that work nights and more depend on Del, please fix this my previous post from 2 years ago is still below very upsetting.... I've had to deal with the delivery truck a few times it takes 45 min or so I understand and wait but this, I can't believe as well as many others disappointed all ended up driving off towards another location staff here have made me feel like a bother and I have usually started waiting for others to show up before I go through and order at this location, ughh sad...

PS.I was told the Nacho cheese would probably be back because a lot of requests, the nacho cheese jalapeno fries AMAZING it was awesome to add to things. Other and myself love it and want it back please!!!

Great location even late night, food still properly made, taste great. Noticed some money saving changes from corporate level for example the Mini quesadilla I used to get with spicy jack cheese, I was now told they are now pre-made and unable to be changed at all. Sad stuff like that but at the corporate level, this location is best and open the latest from any other locations in the area....

Very low to average DelTaco. Really, two star but staff here does work hard to get drive-thru orders out 24hrs day and intentions aren't to rip on hard working people. Came for dine-in, immediately blown away by burned or rancid grease (FYI Mgmt). From working restuarant, the fryer grease breaks down with over use. This cause the grease to burn and smoke at lower cooking temps. It has a particular burnt sweet smell, this was moderate for smell in the dining room itself not appetizing. Small fries order had bits of burnt carbon on them, was not pepper for sure. Grease had an off taste, so bypassed fries. Full size Del Tacos were ok, nice cheese/meat portions, crunchy whole shells. Burritos had chewy flour tortillas. Some dryness on edges, stale not fresh. With so much turn over are they covering the tortillas?? Dining room average clean, bits of paper on floor & on 25% of table covers bits of food. Eww, no wipe down dining room and so kitchen is?? Dining room needed some TLC. Front of house builds trust in back of house. Dunno if staff could because this location does bang for drive-thru, busy busy. Did see someone stock sauce packets at the bulk service in dining room. Most (80%) of convenience table sauce containers needed filling. Mens restroom clean and stocked. Plus is the dining room is open later and...

I come here very often after work and I have to say their night team needs some work. Every single time I'm there they're backed up, and it's not because their place is poppin, it's because they're extremely slow with everything they do, and they don't care. I've literally watched them several times complete payment for my order of one item (with no special instructions) and then proceed to let my one burrito sit there in a bag on the counter for 50-60 seconds while they take another order. I've also watched them leave my burrito on the counter (after I paid) while they were -very slowly- fiddling with a sign that accidentally fell while some dude was mopping. the dude taking orders I guess felt the need to slowly come over to him and examine the situation for 2 full minutes. 2 minutes isn't a lot by itself, but it's del taco. this is why it's always backed up. your night team sucks.

Also, 2-3 times I've pulled up to the window there would be no one saying anything to me for 5-10 minutes. So I learned after 1 minute I have to ask "is anyone there?" or "Hello?" or else they're just going to forget that they're working or something.
