The Taco Stand in Mission Viejo is a hidden gem that brings authentic Mexican flavors to the heart of Orange County. The highlight of the menu is undoubtedly their breakfast burrito. Packed with a generous portion of scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, perfectly seasoned potatoes, and melted cheese, this burrito is a hearty and satisfying start to your day. The fresh salsa adds a nice kick, and the option to customize with additional ingredients like avocado or spicy chorizo makes it even better.
The burrito is wrapped in a soft, warm tortilla that holds everything together without getting soggy— a sign of a well-made burrito. The balance of flavors and textures is spot on, making each bite a delightful experience. It's also quite filling, so it’s perfect for those who want a substantial breakfast that will keep them going through the morning.
Beyond the breakfast burrito, The Taco Stand offers a variety of other traditional Mexican dishes, all made with high-quality ingredients and attention to detail. The casual, laid-back atmosphere and friendly service make it a great spot to grab a quick bite or enjoy a relaxed meal. If you’re in Mission Viejo and craving a delicious breakfast burrito, The Taco Stand is definitely worth a visit. Lots of parking on the side of Target. Just don’t get traumatized when they yell your name out...

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the warm and friendly smiles of Luisa and Gladys, who made us feel right at home. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating, and the salsa bar is a delightful addition.
The food at The Taco Stand is simply amazing! I couldn't decide between the carne asada and the polo asada, so I ended up getting both, and I'm so glad I did. The flavors were incredible, and the quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite. It's no wonder we loved it.. it’s amazing the Manager Evelio stopped by to say hello; it’s the team members at The Taco Stand that are something truly special.
Even though I've been to the Costa Mesa location many times, this was my parents' first visit, and they were blown away. They loved how fresh and clean everything was, and they couldn't stop raving about the delicious food.
The Taco Stand in Mission Viejo is definitely going to be our go-to spot for family dinners from now on. I highly recommend it to anyone who craves authentic and mouthwatering Mexican cuisine. Thank you, Taco Stand, for providing such a fantastic dining experience!"

Read moreI recently visited the Taco Stand with my family and had a mixed experience. While the food wasn't totally bad, there were several issues that caught my attention.
Firstly, we arrived at 9 PM, an hour before closing, and they were noticeably short-staffed. We had to wait 15 minutes for our order, which wasn't ideal. The restaurant itself was in a disarray; trash was piled up inside next to the tables, and the condiment area was both dirty and understocked.
The quality of the food was hit and miss. The corn on the cob was half green, which was quite unappetizing. The most alarming part of our visit was the pork al pastor. The meat on the trompo was completely raw, and when I inquired about it, one of the staff members claimed that it was meant to be like that before cooking it when an order came in. Having eaten al pastor tacos for decades, I know that the meat is always cooking and broiling on the trompo, so seeing it raw was a red flag.
I had better expectations due to the 4.7-star review, but for $4 to $5 per taco, I expected a cleaner environment and higher standards. Unfortunately, The Taco Stand did not meet those expectations. I hope they address these issues soon, as they have the potential to be a great spot with some...
