Misson Viejo location for this small mexican food chain. When I went last I had a Daves Burrito and ordered it wet. It came in a burrito sized box that was overflowing with sauce (pics). After I poured off 2-3oz of extra sauce, the burrito was good tasting. Pico de gallo? Extra and runny... Guacamole? Priced in little cups like its gold (pics). Chips to go with the pico de gallo? Extra in bags, over salted, and in stale oil, ewww. I paid close to 15$ for a burrito, chips, drink and pico de gallo with guac... For one person??! I feel bad for the locals who have to go here. I've paid closer to 10$ at local carnicerias in Costa Mesa, Santa Ana or Capistrano. For some odd reason if you ask at the counter for picante sauce, they give you a chili de arbol kind of roasted sauce or tapatio. The chili de arbol sauce is free?? But there is charge for pico de gallo?? Weird... Agreed with other reviewers, the counter space and one or two chrome tables were disgusting with old food smeared on them. I did go after lunch, but staff had time to clean, they either didn't want to or otherwise. Tables and floors made me scared to ask to use the one bathroom. There was no line and only one table in use, besides the corner of counter I was on. Credit to the staff, they could have had a huge order but they didn't really seem to be moving. I've worked restaurant staff and Mgmt positions and with their open kitchen (ok, that was cool) I didn't see much activity. One table (two?) outside crammed in next to the entrance. Shared strip mall parking between Fedex and Sherman Paints. I would not go back, in the past the place was cleaner and more of a value... I found the staff to be very short for answers and not very friendly or helpful. The food was decent, but overpriced and so not much of a value. I had a sit down table service meal that cost close to that per person today. This is casual front counter to-go service. The real deal breaker was the cleanliness. If the front of the house is that gross,...
Read moreVery worst experience in my entire life. Food is dry and tasteless; they skimp on filling their burritos. They have a crazy rule of only “two tiny plastic containers that hold two teaspoons of salsa in each container per order,” regardless of how much you order.
It was my Mom’s 85th birthday and we selected Las Golonsrinas to order a dozen burritos to take-out to my Mom’s home to feed her kids and grandkids. For a dozen burritos, the girl would only give me 4 teaspoons of salsa. I said to her that I will return the over $100.00 order, and we can ring up each burrito as a separate order, so I can get two little plastic container salsas per burrito, OR we can get the Owner on the phone and maybe he will be so appreciative of my larger order that he will break his rule and allow us to have 14-15 salsas (not even 24 salsas as it would be if each burrito is rung up separately). The Owner Steve was awful awful—-belligerent, UN-CARING, UN-APPRECIATIVE for our business, and just plain mean-spirited. I mentioned that all the other Mexican take-outs have a stand (to serve yourself) in the interior, where you can use a Leidal and fill as many plastic containers up with salsa, and he replied, “Then go there instead! I have 7 locations and I don’t need your business.” I was outraged. I had to wait over 30-minutes for the girl to make the return of the dozen burritos, and re-ring each burrito separately, so I could get ample salsa, and according to their rule, I should have received two salsas per order being 24 salsas, and the girl gave me 12 salsas (one salsa per burrito). The girl says to me that she gets paid no matter what, so she doesn’t have to be nice, or kind, or caring—she just needs to show up—-the TUDE TRICKLES DOWN FROM OWNER TO WORKER!! And the burritos were stone dry. Salsa was awful too. “STAY AWAY FROM STEVE’S 7 LOCATIONS OF LOS GOLONDRINAS!!!” A very disappointed Customer of...
Read moreWORST customer service I have ever had! If I could give 0 stars I would. Had an incident earlier today where a 16yo (Tommy) was arguing with my father over an item that was mispacked. He never once appologized and, in fact, told my father that is was his fault. Total millenial attitude. Meanwhile my father was wiping all the sauce from his shirt and Tommy never once apologized!
I immediately asked for the owner's number. By the time I got home and called Liz Priest (the owner), the workers had already called her. When I had called to explain the situation to Liz, SHE immediately told me that I was wrong, and her employee told her I was outside the entire time the situation was occurring!! WHAT! I said, No, I was the one talking to Tommy. SHE (the owner) was combative with me arguing with me that what her employee did what was right FOR HIS AGE, and that I have to cut him some slack because he was a kid!! She also said learning to apologize is also a learned response that a 16yo doesnt have yet! WHAT! I have taught my kid to apologize since he was a young child (and he's only 6)....when are those manners supposed to be taught....when they are 50??? She herself hasn't "learned" the response yet!! The fact of the matter is that I am a PAYING customer who works very hard for her money and that I do not have to tolerate such behavior that she is tolerating. I TOLD HER I WILL NEVER DINE WITH HER ESTABLISHMENT AGAIN....her response....okay, not a big deal. WOW! So, I have interaction with at least 50 people a day. I will be spreading the news about the poor customer service from this...
