This was my second experience at a Mexican restaurant in my entire life. Generally speaking, I personally don't have a preference for Mexican food, but I am trying to open my horizons and taste different foods compared to my common palate. With this being said, I decided to check out Fernando's Fajita out of curiosity. When I went inside it was quite empty besides a few customers. Not that it's an inheritely negative thing ((it happens after rush hours)), and it gave me time for a inside restaurant scope. It appeared clean, floors swept, and the host came after a few minutes. Then I was seated and greeted by my waiter. I forgotten the waiter's name, but he was pretty good. I asked what was the most popular option to choose from, and he recommended a couple a things. I decided to select the... Sampler, I think, and ultimately what I felt about it was 'meh'.
The best way to describe Fernando's Fajita is an authentic Mexican Taco Bell. There wasn't any spice or necessary bold flavors. Lots of iodine sodium, and the chips tasted a bit stale, salsa pretty standard, but nothing really stood out with the meal. It's like if Taco Bell stopped being Americanized and started catering with different Mexican food varieties ((that actually would be interesting)). I can't say my tastebuds enjoyed the flavors, but I haven't eaten since this morning and was pretty hungry. However, I can't say, "Wow! This is amazing!" Honestly, I am glad to experience this restaurant, but as a person who's generally uninterested in most Mexican oriented cuisines, it is unlikely that I will return to...
Read moreAfter calling in my order, which I do at least once a week, I went to pick up my order. Upon returning home, half of my food was missing. When I called the restaurant, I spoke with 3 people, all claiming to be a manager until I explained the situation. One gentleman said I had 2 options… 1) drive back to the restaurant and pick up my missing food or 2) bring the order back and get a refund. The most helpful lady told me that establishments all over were making mistakes. I informed her that I was dealing with her establishment and I wanted compensation for “their” mistake. She then went into explaining that periodically new staff was in training , i quickly cut her off and again told her, that is not my fault, FERNANDO’S messed my order up. Finally, she asked what would I like to have done, I explained that I would like for someone from the restaurant to bring my missing food. She agreed in a very condescending way, even when “she” showed up with my missing food, she had an attitude like I had ceated the problem. I will continue to order food from Fernando’s but they will go over ever box of food before I bring it back to my home and family! What used to be a wonderful eating establishment is becoming another disappointment… for that, I am dissapointed, angry and sad. 1...
Read moreTLDR Wouldnt go again, wouldnt recommend. First, you should know, they only serve beer. Evidently they don't hold a liquor license, which is fine but we were very rudly informed of by our "waitress" who let us know people come there for the food (as though a fun drink isn't part of the experience people go for). And if you're not wanting a pint be sure to specify you'd like a small draft or they'll just bring and charge you for the big one. On the food! Everything tasted fresh out of a can or seasoning packet. Nothing was authentic. And I hope you're not wanting glasses or serving plates for your starters. If you are, ask up front, they're tryin "to save themselves on steps" even when the place is empty. The music isn't your traditional vibe but that's okay, it was a...
