Before talking about the food, I want to give a huge shout-out to the manager here. I know he used to work at HK Food Street but is now helping out at HK Food Court — and he is truly one of the nicest, most attentive managers I’ve met. He went above and beyond for my family, from helping us find a table to assisting my mom with carrying drinks back when we got refills. He made sure we felt welcome and comfortable, and even helped us navigate around the café when we needed something.

I still remember our very first visit — we were confused about how everything worked. My sister had asked the female manager (short hair, glasses, tattoo) for help, but her response was, “You have to find a seat before you order, everything is self-serve, I cannot help you.” This felt unhelpful, especially since the place had just opened and there were no signs explaining the process. We just saw a long line without knowing what it was for.

In contrast, this other manager was AMAZING. I’m genuinely glad he’s there holding down the fort — his presence alone makes the whole experience better. My compliments to him 100%! He’s honestly one of the best things about this café, and his service is a big reason why I’m giving 4 stars.

As for the food (the reason for the -1 star), it can be a bit hit-or-miss. A huge plus for me is their free drink refills — something no other cha chaan teng offers. My family and I stayed for 3–4 hours, ordering food, enjoying our drinks, and even inviting my sister to join us later. No one rushed us or made us feel unwelcome.

However, a lot of items are often out of stock — I still haven’t had a chance to try their bolo buns. My favorites so far are the French toast and the BBQ meat with rice — both were delicious with zero complaints. On the other hand, I wasn’t a fan of the bubble egg waffle or the stir-fried noodles. The HK-style casserole (egg fried rice with flank steak, grilled, in tomato sauce, baked with cheese) didn’t quite hit the mark for me — the sauce was too sweet, almost like BBQ sauce. The Swiss chicken wings were decent — flavor could be stronger, but the meat fell off the bone perfectly, which I loved.

All in all, some dishes are great, others less so, but I enjoy the ambiance. It’s a chill, comfortable place to hang out, snack, sip drinks, and chat with family. Even with the occasional misses, I’ll keep coming back — and that’s largely thanks to the amazing manager who makes the experience...

Ok where to start. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was really busy, and the workers looked really stressed/frantic walking around. But here’s my honest review:

Food: Beef hor fun - the size of the dish was decent, but I feel like the dish was lacking that “wok hay” flavor that I would expect in a dish I would consider as a Cantonese staple.

Pork Chop Egg Rice Casserole: it was okay, again I feel like the rice was lacking that wok hay and I tasted more of the tomato sauce if anything.

Satay Noodles: I felt like the noodles were bit overcooked, and didn’t have a more distinct satay taste. I also found the broth to be a bit too salty.

Pork + Century Egg Congee: more on the watery side, decent amount of pork + century egg; however I was expecting a bit more flavor.

HK milk tea (hot): I would say it’s decent, but for those who may prefer a stronger tea taste it may not give you that.

Overall impression: I really wanted to like this place; however I want to be fair that they just opened and it was a weekend so they were swamped and ran out of food midday.

I think some helpful suggestions would be placing a sign in front of the door to inform customers that they should find seating prior ordering because I saw customers kind of confused standing at the entrance as if they were waiting for someone to seat them as this is a cha chaan tang concept it might be foreign to people who never had it/experienced it.

Another suggestion is maybe having assigned numbers to tables that way it’ll ensure that the customers found a table and are able to order at the kiosk and input their number. That way it will also help ensure 1) customers have a table 2) waiters can easily find tables because I noticed they were a bit lost trying to find the customer with that order.

Again I would love to come back to Re-do a review and try the food again once they work their kinks out as this was their first week of opening. As this is also a family owned business, I would like to support them and see their success for this location alongside with their sister location in Katy.

I’ve been reading all the reviews and was seriously excited to check this place out as they have been posting about running out of food daily. Which is a good problem to have. I love this strip center as it’s very close to the house but up until this point we have only been back multiple times to gong cha. Most of the other places we have tried have been 1 try and that was enough.

We came early on Sunday morning. They do not officially open until 11 am but they started letting people get in a little early and grab tables. They opened up the ordering kiosk about 10:55 am. We had ample time to review the menu and we ordered the hk tea, the hk toast, the casserole with fried rice pork cutlet and black pepper sauce, they were out of the flat noodle so we got the skinny noodles stir fry with beef, wonton noodle soup, and salt and pepper squid.

The bad - salt and pepper squid, way too salty and only a few pieces of squid the rest was just crispy pieces of batter and peppers, the hk tea pretty pricey and basic.

The ok - skinny stir fried noodles with beef, we love their flat noodles so maybe we were just disappointed they had ran out.

The good - their wonton noodle soup, their wontons are delicious, they give you tons of noodles, their casserole, the pork cutlet fried topped with the black pepper sauce is so damn addicting I ate the whole dish myself! Finally, my favorite was the hk toast, this thing is sweet but not overly sweet.

Overall, the place is straight up chaotic, its order at the counter and self serve, so don’t expect really any kind of service. They ran out of water and it’s quite hot inside. Not sure if that’s the ac or just way too many people. Give them a few weeks to work out the kinks.

Situated in an obscure area of a big shopping complex, first timers will find it hard to locate Hong Kong Food Court. The neon lights in the restaurant are very HK-ish, which are eye-catching. Definitely love the mahjong-bear at the front. It is a good-sized restaurant that has enough seatings for big and small groups. Customers order at the self-service kiosks at the front, grab a number tag, then grab a table. Water, utensils, and to-go boxes are self-service, but food will be served to your table. My family had the salt and pepper squid, BBQ pork with the scrambled egg rice, saucy beef with seasonal green chow fun, and chicken chow fun with egg sauce. The salt and pepper squid wasn’t what we expected, as there was dried chili instead of pepper. The dried chili wasn’t spicy, just salty. However, the squid was crispy, and the batter was thin. The rice dish was white rice with the egg sauce poured over it. The white rice was room temperature. They cooked the egg sauce and poured over the rice. There wasn’t much taste to the dish. As for the two chow fun dishes, they were too salty. Tips are not required, and that probably explains the price of the food. During peak hours, you will see customers standing around waiting for a table. The influx of customers is high too. Reservations aren’t allowed in the restaurant, thus it is best to dine-in during non-peak hours. There is plenty of free parking too.
