I would not recommend Akashi Sushi in Missouri City to anyone who is looking for good customer service. I visited for dinner after talking the restaurant up to my husband. We were seated and it took a while for anyone to assist us to begin with. A lady finally came over to take our drink and appetizer order stating that she could see that they were a little busy. Then a man came and asked if we had been helped and proceeded to take our dinner order. He was interrupted by the manager and walked away to tend to another table before completing our order. Husband asked the guy that interrupted our waiter for the manager. He said that he was the manager. We mentioned to him how it was rude of him to interrupt the waiter as he was taking our order and he then walked off. He asked who we wanted to serve us. We said it didn't matter we just wanted to know who was taking our order. When we thought things were moving forward the manager decided to continue to talk and said, "If you don't want to eat here, I don't care!" That was totally inappropriate and rude. Needless to say hubby and I left. The manager/owner needs a lesson in customer service 101. It's unfortunate because I was just there about a week ago with a girlfriend and the food was tasty and the service that evening was great, but they don't ever have to worry about me spending my money in their establishment again. I will continue to let others know about the service that was received there via the management as well. They won't be in business for long with management and an...
Read moreI really hate writing reviews like this but I want to let other, as well as the restaurant, know about my experience in the hopes that this doesn’t happen again. I used to be a regular at Akashi, love their food, great sushi, and really nice atmosphere until the last time I went. It took about 25 minutes after being seated before the waiter came and greeted us, and mind you, the restaurant was not busy, I counted 9 tables with people (including us). After placing our order, it took another 25-30 minutes for our food to come out, and we barely got our soup before the food came out. The waiter brought the wrong soup out the first time, which happens, but then after asking about appetizers which came with the family dinner specials, we were lied to and said that it didn’t come with it. We then asked for a menu again (which took forever) and showed him. After speaking to the manager about this, we found out that he put the wrong order in and charged us extra for the soup and didn’t give us the dinner specials. On top of that, I had ordered some sushi rolls and never got them. After enquiring about my rolls, I was told that they were just making them and it would be another 10 minutes because they were backed up so I cancelled those. This whole experience was just unacceptable and sadly I will not be returning here again.
On a side note, the food is still really good here and I do enjoy it. It’s just the quality of service that made me not...
Read moreI have visited Akashi, Missouri City, weekly for the past month. My experiences are usually very pleasant, and the food is tasty. Yesterday, 2/23/2020, I observed some major sanitation concerns. Our waiter’s face was familiar. However, he usually does not wait tables (usually in the background) and I have not seen him in the restaurant for quite a while. He was very impatient with us while taking our order. My worst observation was watching this waiter pick up his cellular telephone several times to text, answer and make outgoing calls in the sushi area by the kitchen door while serving us, all without washing his hands. I even observed him scratching his scalp once. I am easy going, but I do not compromise on cleanliness and will not be returning to this establishment. His behavior makes me question what is going on in the kitchen and I cannot patronize with those images in my head. I did not obtain the waiter’s name, nor did he disclose it, but he was Asian, middle-aged, with all black clothing and New...
