This is a nice new addition to Mobile. When you enter it has a nice ambiance. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. They walked me through the offerings and also made suggestions based on what I was looking for. There's a variety of empanadas to choose from, and they get a A+ for the display of options. Very neat and clean. During this first visit, I tried the Spinach and Artichoke along with the Apple Pecan. The Spinach and Artichoke was good. The temperature of my food wasn't as hot as I was expecting (this is good for kids), but the flavor was nice. If they can serve it a bit hotter that would be great but I understand maintaining certain food temperatures to prevent customer burns. Next, I tried the Apple Pecan. The flavor on this was decent. I will say it's not as sweet as the apple pies I've grown accustomed to, but that's personal preference. I also didn't notice the pecans inside. They were either very soft or very small. This round was a no meat trial but next time I'll try something more savory. Overall I like this new addition to the city. I'm looking forward to trying more options, and hopefully the food temperature can be hotter by request.
Update: I made a second visit and tried the Chicken Peruvian and Beef Argentina. Both were served very hot which was a nice change compared to my first visit so temperature wasn't a problem. The flavor on both were great. My favorite of the two was the Chicken Peruvian because. It taste similar to a chicken pot pie but better. Overall great second experience. Looking forward to...
Read moreEmpanola in Mobile is a hidden gem! The venue is small and cute—nothing too fancy, but honestly, what else do you need? The food is definitely unique to this area, offering a taste of something different, and it’s absolutely delicious. I tried the mushroom and cheese empanada, and it was amazing—perfectly savory and flavorful. My coworkers went with the sample order and they were equally impressed! The empanadas are a bit on the pricier side, but the quality and flavors make it worth it, especially given the neighborhood they’re catering to. I noticed the owner was there, chatting with customers like just another friendly face, which really adds to the welcoming atmosphere. While the menu is small, I do wonder if it might be tough for an empanada-only shop to survive long-term, but who knows? The place is new and there’s definitely potential. One thing’s for sure—I’ll...
Read moreFound this place today and was very excited about the empanadas, but it was a huge disappointment to find out that I was charged a 3% fee for using a credit card without being warned. No signs in sight, I only found out after I paid. Deceptive practices like this make me take my business elsewhere, where I'm treated the way they'd want to be treated. Just a matter of empathy and manners
Edit: after their reply, I understand that the staff member may have forgotten, we're all human. The best recommended practice is to put a sign visibly next to the card reader and on the window or door. The food was very good except for it being too salty, but very resembling of authentic empanadas, so I commend...
