Newk's Eatery — Restaurant in Mobile

I eat here fairly regularly between 2 to 3 times a week for the past year. At first the service was great but it has gotten worse and worse through time. I’m not one to usually post things like this especially negative reviews for any place of business as I’d rather support good behavior than point out the bad but that being said I am beyond disappointed by the service on my last visit even though I never even got to order. I waited through line to the point I was the last person in the lobby. The two cashiers looked at me and turned around and walked away without saying a word. If they had even acknowledged me and said they would be right back or to give them a moment that would have been completely cool. I’m not asking for much with this but just some common courtesy. I also don’t think I should get special privilege because I frequent the store but you would think as a regular who works with a company that sends a lot of business to Newk’s we could at least be given the bare minimum of entry level customer service instead of being ignored. No fly zone for me...

I've eaten at this Newks for years but I've just had an experience that might make me chose elsewhere. I went in on a Sunday at 3pm, I was the only customer inside at the time. The dining room was filthy (not a clean table in sight and food all over the floor), many of the employees were standing around in the corner of the dining room doing nothing (it was slow so i get it, but why are you standing around when the restaurant is a disaster area?). I had an accidental spill and asked an employee for help cleaning it up and she did a quick wipe of the table with paper towels, as I went to get more paper towels to help her she walked away and just left the floor soaked and the table wet and sticky. I continued to clean up my mess with paper towels from the bathroom because there were no napkins in the dining room. Thankfully the young girl who brought it my food went to get a mop so I didn't have to clean the floor on my hands and knees. Filth, nasty tables. Came in on a Saturday at 6 pm and it was relatively empty. Went up to the cashier to order and he seemed quiet confused when I was ordering, when I asked for cups for water. Went to sit down at the booths but all of them were filled with food, plates and trash. Asked the server to clean up one of them and he wiped down the table, when I went to sit, the booths still had food particles all over the seat and I had to ask him to come back again. Mind you they had 4-5 staff I saw out in the open so it’s not like they were under staffed. Other tables were piled with plates and cups. My spicy pizza came but it was just plain bread with cheese and undercooked shrimp and bell peppers even though the description stated red pepper flakes and other items I never saw. The shrimp felt very rubbery and not fully cooked and each slice had about only half a shrimp. Super disappointed. The water station didn’t have any lime left, the Tabasco sauces all the bottles had barely 3 drops left. The staff seem super incompetent and just...
