Waffle House — Restaurant in Mobile

Mobile reached a record-breaking snow, and after days of cooking at home, my husband and I decided to get breakfast at the waffle house a few days after it showed 10 inches. It was freezing outside. It was not after hours or anything, and the doors were locked, and they were serving out of a window that you had to walk up to. Now it's was 19 degrees, but with the windshield, it felt like 4 degrees. It was about 7 people at the windows. Some people were together wairing to order, and they advised that they were serving off an emergency menu and could only serve 4 things at a time. We tried to order waffles and was advised that they weren't serving waffle right now. I implied, but you're called Waffle House, but you mean to tell me you don't have any waffles? She advised they just weren't cooking any right then. I asked for a chicken egg & cheese grit bowl, and she advised that they could do it with hash brown. Not everyone eats hashbrowns, though. We get one little snow, and they shut down the city for almost 3 days, and this is the service you get. Even if you were only doing to-go orders, let you cust come sit down out of the cold why they wait on their food. My husband and I sat in the truck, and he had to keep walking up to the windows to check on the food. Due to the lack of any kind of communication plan at the waffle house Noone took down a phone number on the customer or put up a digital number sign and giving you a number to display when your food was ready. I told him, "Let's just go, but he advised that since we are here now, let's just get something. He got a chicken sandwich and a hash brown bowl, and I went home and cooked a real breakfast, including grits, waffles, eggs, Turkey & Chicken Sausage. Shame on how you treat your customers on one of the coldest days of the year. Plus, grits and waffles are the cheapest things to make, and waffles are in your companies name, but being advised that when you run out of one thing, you will replace it with something else. Really? Well, we won't be back to see what you replace it with. It is o.k. to have an emergency menu and plan, but the execution sucks, and it wasn't really planned out. Please go back to the drawing board. I wish zero or negative stars would apply! No owner/messenger will even reply. WHive on reputation alone! Should not sacrifice customer service because of that. This USED to be my favorite WH. But not anymore, and all because of tonight. First time ever iIwas not able to plavemy order within 5-10mins. I showed up about 1:15am for a quick to-go order. Sit down, had patience because I had not clue what they had going on. So I kept being patient, and more patient, then I ask if someone could at least take my order since their grill guy was not so backed up. The response I got was, "well hackuum, (fake cough) someone think he special No, someone has been sitting here for over 30min without even offering a water or explaining why they is a wait. I continue to wait a few more minutes while waitresses with nothing to do decide to clean tables, instead of taking my 5min order. Does not take long to make a sausage, egg hasbrown bowl. Not a hard order, nothing special. Just lazy employees! This will be forwarded to their manager if there is someone with that title. If not, stay away!! From now on I'll...

Don't even bother eating here!! It is so nasty!...everything feels greasy...waitress gave us plastic utensils because according to her the metal ones were too dirty!!! We got our water first...but not in a hurry!...then we got one thing at a time...like eating our breakfast in courses. But I like to eat mine together...the waitress came to clear away the dishes and dropped a ketchup bottle on my daughter's sausage plate...then wanted to know if she wanted a fresh order...of course!!!...we didnt know where that greasy, already empty bottle had been! She never got her sausage...and we realized this probably wasn't going to happen because our waitress had now taken a seat at the bar to eat!!! The bathroom was deplorable...toilet tissue all over the floor and the hand dryer was covered with Mildew...sink was dirty...pipes under sink rusted and covered in cob webs...I cannot believe the Health Department has not shut them down...or at least made them clean up!...I did not finish my meal...I just could not do it...I think it's fair to say I won't go in...
