The Mocksville KFC is the pits. When the craving comes for the Colonel's chicken and biscuits, the cool creamy slaw, potatoes and gravy, do yourself a favor: bypass This Disaster Scene! My feeling is they just don't give a damn what you order, and that you're going to get what they've got... and you'll be lucky to get that! Here's a good example: I drove in and ordered a bucket, telling them I wanted "original" not the strange, so-called "extra crispy." I'm given my total and being told to drive around to the window, but then wait wait wait wait wait just a minute, but did I say extra crispy? No, as patiently as I could put it I want it original. This is a full two hours before closing time, and the woman says she can give me half extra crispy breasts, and finish the order out with thighs. I was so upset and ask well what happened to the chicken you gave me a price for, an advised me to drive up to the window to pick up. She told me that - again this is 2 hours before closing - that she can give me original but it would be a few minutes. I said "I will wait." She said "actually it will be about 30 or 35 minutes," that the manager was changing the grease in the cooker. It has been a very long day, one of those days when you really need things too "go right," and I told her that I was just going to give up and go to Bojangles, but that I was really hungry and I would like a couple of biscuits if they had them. She said they did and she charged me a couple of dollars and I drove off, stopped at the stoplight, pulled out a biscuit and bit into.......The Pillsbury Doughboy, a lightly colored outside, with a nasty glob of cool dough inside. I was surprisingly calm, that point. I just didn't give a damn. I did but I'm advising you to do: I took a 20-minute Drive to Clemmons, to the KFC right off of Interstate 40, over the bridge and hang a left into a competent KFC where I always get good service and food. I'll mention that two weeks later, figuring that I might get lucky, I went back to our local KFC in Mocksville and ordered a bucket of chicken potatoes gravy, biscuits... And emphasized I did not want extra crispy - several TIMES, asking THAT SHE WOULD MAKE EXTRA SURE I GOT ORIGINAL NOT EXTRA CRISPY, HAD her read my order back to me to be sure it was "original." "Original, right?" I asked at the window; and she said "its original - they just finished cooking it." ANYBODY WANT TO GUESS what it was when I got home, and took the lid off? I tossed the bucket across my parking lot, and the little animals cleaned up most of it overnight. I wouldn't go back to this KFC location on a bet! If I ever get a craving for KFC, I will be going to any...
Read moreUpdate: The general manager reached out to me and offered to give us the correct meal at no charge. I came in yesterday around 12 PM and got my free meal. The gentleman working the counter was kind and gave my husband and I a free drink while we waited for the meal to be ready. Definitely recommend going to KFC before 5 PM.
We ordered a 6 piece, which comes with (obviously) 6 pieces of chicken, 4 sides, and 4 biscuits. We requested extra crispy chicken, which will come up later.
Anyway, we showed up and my husband went in to get the food, which was not ready when they said it would be. He asked at the counter how long it would take, and they said they were out of extra crispy chicken, so it would be a while. He asked if we could just get the original chicken instead and they said okay. Then they told us they actually had 5 pieces of extra crispy, but they’d have to give us one original chicken. They told us they threw in an extra thigh to make up for not having all of the extra crispy chicken.
When we got home, we sat down to eat and to our surprise, there were only 4 pieces of chicken in the bucket, and one of our sides were missing. What’s annoying, is the workers lied to us and said they gave us extra chicken when they didn’t, and they couldn’t even bother to put all 4 sides in the bag. This location of KFC has been consistently bad...
Read moreThe only reason I'm giving five stars on service for this place is because of a dedicated employee barely 16 or 17 years old that was working her butt off to try to make things run as smooth as she could. This poor girl was running the drive-thru, the counter, and also running food back and forth from the restaurant to the parking lot where the cars were piling up. I'm sure she was getting a lot of grief from all of the customers but she handled it really well and still had a smile on her face. I believe her name was Jennifer. I hope the right person notices her and gets her into a management trainee program. I did have to wait over 30 minutes for my food but I did notice what she was doing and how hard she was working and when I got my food it was all correct thanks to her and her...
