Bobs Take n Bake Pizza — Restaurant in Modesto

This place is suffering from its own success. About 15 years ago I absolutely loved Bob's Take and Bake. They would pile on the toppings, the customer service was great, and the pizza was excellent. Today, the pizza is still very tasty. I would say the best Take and Bake. However the customer service is poor and they no longer pile on the toppings. It's sad to see when a great place like Bob's goes this way. (Update) I added an extra star today, giving Bob's 4 stars. I gave them another shot and this time the same person who helped me out last time was exceptionally friendly and courteous. Again, the pizza was fantastic. Bob's used to have the best San Francisco Sourdough pizza crust..but tonight was quite the disappointment I'm sorry to say. The pizza looked great as you can see. I baked it as I normally do and when I began to cut it my pizza wheel wouldn't go thru the crust 😮 ok so maybe my wheel is full. Took a bite and about chipped a tooth (slight exaggeration) but seriously the dough was hard and tasted like it came from a freezer. We like to support local businesses and have had pizza from Bob's for years, I know they can do better than this.

Fast forward 2 years later and we still get our take and bake pizzas here. Keep making the fresh sourdough crust and we will keep coming...

My pal Oscar Mendoza bought a new house with a big car barn for his 8 cars, and called me up so I could get a good look. So I blast into town and look for a pizza joint so I can take him my signature house warming gift...a pizza! Well...I asked around for the best pizza place in Modesto, well actually I asked 7 people and 4 of them said Bob's Take n Bake Pizza! So, I snagged a large pizza with my favorite toppings and went over to Oscar's new spread, because nothing says.. welcome home like handing a friend a pizza! And...Bob's does it better than anyone! ...
