My recent visit to Taqueria El Compadre had its ups and downs. The location in the shopping center is convenient for other places you may like to visit, and the atmosphere during my Tuesday evening visit was pleasant and uncrowded. The hostess was friendly and helpful, but unfortunately, my experience with the cashier fell short.
There were some communication mishaps. My order included a chicken salad that was completely forgotten, despite being confirmed by the cashier. While the hostess apologized for the mistake, the cashier didn't acknowledge it or offer any apologies. Additionally, I wasn't informed about grabbing my own cup for water, leading to an unnecessary wait in line again.
The food itself was decent. The three street tacos I ordered were average, neither exceptional nor disappointing. However, considering the service issues, the overall value falls short.
Would I return? Highly unlikely. The convenient location and pleasant atmosphere are tempting, but I'd hope for more consistent and attentive service next time. If you do visit, make sure to clarify your order thoroughly and grab your own drink cup to avoid any...
Read moreOur whole family loves this place! It’s our go too when we are in town, our bellies are rumbling, and home is just a few min to far to wait lol. I’ve been eating here since I was a freshmen in college. Heading there after swim practice, or a night class at MJC. Now I bring my family there, it’s our favorite Mexican food restaurant. I love their bean burritos, quesadillas, burritos, taco salads, burrito bowls, and their breakfast menu. They have a great beer selection with cold mugs to pour your beer into. They have the best salsa bar around! I love their green avocado salsa, it’s my little ones favorite as well. The place is clean, and their location is perfect! I love I can park at rose-burg square, walk the trail, let the little one burn off energy at the park then walk back. We usually grab lunch before or after he walk. I highly recommend this place! :)
Ps I LOOOOOVE when they load up the burrito bowls with cheese! I LOOOOOVE...
Read moreWe’ve enjoyed coming to this welcoming neighborhood spot for over a decade. The owner passed within the last few years, but it remained in the family and they’ve continued serving delicious high quality food. In fact, every week our kids tell us “hey… it’s taqueria Tuesday”.
Never had anything we didn’t like, but our favorites are beef fajitas, the carnitas or pastor super nachos, and the asada super fajita burrito. I also love their tortilla soup whenever I’m sick. We’ve wanted to try the birria stuffed quesadilla, but it’s hard not to get your favorites. So come back frequently and try it all! They have a pretty tasty breakfast menu, too.
They’ve had a lot of new staff over the last few years, and we know the service industry is often full of contention. Mistakes happen, and so I recommend checking your to go orders...
