Charleys Cheesesteaks — Restaurant in Modesto

So, about an hour ago I went to this establishment and regarding the service it was a bit inhospitable. The cashier didn't really greet me, although, I guess I didn't have much a problem with that. I was called to get my order and the woman who gave me the food just handed it to me and started chatting. I wasn't aware the fries were underneath the sandwiches so I kept standing there (maybe my mistake for not asking). However, the woman who gave it to me, at one point, went on her phone whilst her gloves were on and then stared at me. The man who was also grilling was just glancing and giving me a weird look. As if I was bothering them. Again, I was unaware the fries were placed underneath, so, I thought I had to wait a little longer, but I didn't really appreciate all the impolite glaring. When they finally spoke to me the woman just said,"do you want something"? They told me about the fries and I was on my way. The food was given in good time, but the sandwich is burned. I suppose you can't expect much from the food court and especially during the holidays. This location clearly has no manager to look after the customer experience. The place seems to be under staffed and over worked.

I had ordered fries with the meal but some how fries had not made the tag. No big deal and I was saved from the extra calories. They also made the sandwich wrong too. Neither of which is realy a big deal.

However the adult employees did not care about customer service and behaved like teenagers about the improperly made sandwich. This would be understandable too, if my tone or behavior was disrespectful. But they don't have that as an excuse. It is sad when you don't have high expectations but still end up disappointed. Even an insincere apology would have been appreciated.

I do not recommend this place at all. It’s completely unprofessional. (1) The place was disgustingly dirty and there was lettuce on the floor. (2) I came in the other day with my family, 45 minutes BEFORE CLOSING and they had all the chairs up and the guy who is full of tattoos on his arms and neck rudely told me that they weren’t taking orders anymore and that I had to leave. I couldn’t even buy a lemonade for my child!! This isn’t the first time that they do this to me and it’s always the same guy. (3) I don’t know the guys name, but I’m pretty sure the same guy who is full of neck and arm tattoos brings his girlfriend to work with him.
