El Marisquero Authentic Mxcn — Restaurant in Modesto

I was really upset that for a half filled take out container of beans and cheese quoted @ $4 and led to believe they would fill the container she showed me and then shown the smaller container and quoted 2$ so I asked for half of that size for the pico de gallo ..lol I had yet been schooled in weights and measures full of smiles and lies El Marisquero style..I paid 6$ for a plate of beans and 2 small little plastic salsa bar containers that they give for.free they charged me . When i.paid I specifically asked to see the sizes and told her it was my birthday and I had only a few dollars but I still wanted me and my daughter to make it special to add it to the rainbow trout my son gave me to make for dinner.. she smiled while she lied. Took the last of money and delivered to me half of what I was promised and when I tried to say something she was very rude and dismissive and said what seemed had to be nothing nice in Spanish..otherwise why not address my concerns. I notice but have NEVER publicly announced if I don't have my Mexican husband or my mexican children/or my Dominican eldest daughter . My white face sure gets treated a lot like a "Mark" as they smile to distract u from the hand in your pocket..and on my birthday? I'm sorry but those 2 horrible girls should be fired and I shouldn't have to bring my darker loved ones to get treated with respect just as no one should..what horrible lil incompetent prejudice tramps you have representing your restaurant..oh and forgot to even mention that they made me wait literally 15 MINUTES even tho the 1 table was already done and the other were a 2 top table dining In and I had to wait 15 minutes for beans and cheese and salsa for salsa bar..thanks for adding your special touch to...

This is authentic and very very good. The price for it being a restaurant is very reasonable, the only thing better would be taco trucks only for the little discount in price but not quality. Close to downtown, great staff, two thumbs up.

Three years later have to say the prices have gone up and the size of your burrito has gone down. Also 13.05 when paying cash so you're gonna get .95c in change which is annoying. Sadly have to downgrade it from 5 to 4 stars. Still yummy just getting out of my price range.

I've given up on this place. Just got a super burrito asada and it was so tiny I legit went to Jessica's taco truck and it was nearly double the size for 2$ less ... The ingredients are good yes but let's be real if the burrito isnt full and wrapped tight and you cost more why? End of an era .. 14 years of solid food and past year or so just...

This place is the best Mexican food in town hands down. This is NOT a regular full service restaurant, however. You walk in, order at the register and go find a seat with a number. The wonderful, hardworking FAMILY that owns the place, brings you your food. If you need anything else later you just simply walk up to counter and ask for it. People that complain this place has bad service are simply wrong. The people that work here are very kind and accommodating, but they are not just lurking around your table to refill your soda after every freaking sip. If you need something, get up off your ass and use your mouth and ask! This place is bomb. Food great. Service great. Stop being so damn entitled, Modesto. Appreciate a good...
