1 block south of Orangeburg on McHenry Ave (towards downtown) entrance on your right. Great mexican american food, my personal favorites are their bean and cheese burritos and their Asada nachos with the works... don't forget the jalapenos, they have the best refried beans and their house made Salsa is Amazing though not as hot as some would like, I find it perfect and I could literally drink this stuff... ask to buy a quart to go. My family has been coming here well over 25 years,no complaints. They have a huuuuge menu from tacos to chili rellanos and nothing I have ever chosen to try hasn't been great tasting (over the years I do believe I've tried everything here) They never dissapoint . They offer a wide variety of combo meals ( Asada plate, Chili Verdes, chili colorado, enchiladas, taquitos and much more... and have the best milkshake in town.Very casual atmosphere (booths or chairs), child friendly. Indoor and outdoor dining ( think dairy queen type dining) or just drive thru and take out. They have a very affordable daily special everyday of the week and also offer family packs of tacos and burritos. Always service with a smile and they have never once messed up my order or left something out. Love this place, and I come any chance I get (I live an hour and a half away) and I eat HERE everytime I come. I choose Garcia JoJo's over Anyplace else and there are many other choices of eateries here in Modesto....
Read moreFor a "fast food" style Mexican Restaurant this place does have good food. But their customer service is severely lacking. What's even worse is when you bring something to their attention they make no effort to correct the issue to make sure the "customer" receives outstanding service. On Sunday, I went through the drive-thru and ordered a giant burrito/combo with ground beef. After reaching my destination which was about 25 min away I realized that they had given me Pork instead of ground beef. Do to my religion I cant eat Pork and was forced to throw the burrito in the trash. I kept my receipt and I called them the next day to inform them of this HUGE inconvenience to me. I came in as a hungry customer expecting to receive what I ordered and ended up not even being able to eat it... When I spoke to the restaurant the next day I was told that it was MY responsibility to SAVE the Burrito and to bring it back to have it replaced.. They wont help you or do anything to fix THEIR MISTAKE without the Burrito. EVEN if you have the receipt. So they received my MONEY and I received the wrong Burrito and they refused to help... It saddens me that in this day & age a restaurant would treat customers this way... I wont...
Read moreAs my daughter asked "How is it possible to make bland, tasteless Mexican food??? This place makes Taco Bell seem like an authentic flavor explosion by comparison!" We ordered a Chile Verde Burrito Plate and a Fish Burrito. These people have apparently never heard of cilantro - nor any other tasty ingredients, herbs or spices. The "verde" was neither - in appearance or flavor. The burrito platter was comprised of tasteless rice, beans and meat chunks - served with a large flour tortilla that had been nuked in a mircrowave, so when we arrived at home with the food (about 3 minutes later) the tortilla was rock-hard in spots, rubbery in others and could not be rolled/folded into a burrito. The nicest thing we can say about the food is that we're not quite as hungry as we were, although we trashed about half of it. Portion size is NOT an acceptable substitute for no flavor. I would not recommend this to anyone - except perhaps someone who is starving and there's absolutely nothing else available (and I do...
