Great buffet! I have dinner at several Golden Corral locations in the area and have always had good experience at all of the ones I have been to. These include the Watt Avenue off I-5 I'm Sacramento, the one on McHenry on Modesto and the one on Grant Line Road in Tracy. The menu offerings are varied enough to satisfy most any dietary requirement whether medically limited or a picky eater. The service is good as the employees that get good reviews on the company's website get more hours of work. The food is not all fried, like most low cost buffets, and there are dishes that are comfort food, like pot roast and fried chicken, to please most of us. Parking is good except for busy times when you may have to park a little further away. The bathrooms are clean. Discounts for seniors are available and bill disputes are handled in a prompt and friendly manner.
This is another review and it involves a visit about four weeks later O would give it only one star after today's visit because of two things The first one is that they were understaffed because the poor waitress was working in so many areas of the place that she couldn't wait on the people dining there I had to get my own coffee while she had to put out more food on the line, then sweep the floor, then pick up dishes, and still serve the people that were eating. This was just too much for one person to do The second comment is that the food was too salty all the way around. All the prepaid dishes were way too salty. The only things that didn't have a lot of salt were the desserts and the salad items. The prepared salads were too salty as well. This is the first time I've had a bad experience dining here I hope it has improved by the time I get back there in another month. Went there again on February 15,2020 and had the prime rib and the steak. The place was very crowded but the service was very attentive and prompt. Rosa and Rueben took the time to actually to keep the tables clean and customers serviced even with the large crowd. The restrooms were clean. The food was very flavorful and not overly salted nor greasy. The only thing that might be improved would be that having all the advertised menu items out for dinner at the proper time. I think in any language when you put one finger in front of your mouth and you say shhh it means the same thing in all languages but not apologizing for her workers mishap pretty much made it seem like it was ok, we felt ignored and hope noone else feels the same, after the situation we started just not even getting the same treatment from all the other workers just asking for a rib piece and saying ty and being ignored then when asking what's the difference on the bbq sauces was just long pauses and ignoring me "oh their all the same!" Ones sweet and that was just it no details on the other one and I was the only one standing waiting for a rib it was just horrible felt like all the cooks just didn't like their jobs and it showed! Walking in, I immediately noticed the carpeted flooring by the drinks and register was almost slick with years of soda spills. Ok, not out of the ordinary. I guess for a place with self serve sodas it would be hard to keep clean. The plates and utensils were not washed well at all (food still on a lot of them). A lot of people (myself included) had to search for a clean plate and fork. The food: was just okay. My salad was good because i made it. And also, how do you mess up a salad? Everything else was mediocre for the price. Other than sald, there isn't very many healthy options either (bummer). How about some grilled chicken? My boyfriend loved the fact that he was able to get a steak just the way he liked it. But that was mostly all he ate. I believe 3 steaks. I tried some of the other items like: fish with a cream sauce, catfish bites, fried shrimp, over-fried chicken that I couldn't bite into, mixed veggies that were not very fresh, and some fruit. I was also bummed that there was no chocolate fountain like on the commercial, but I understand with the pandemic, maybe they took it out. Who knows? Their bread pudding was good though! The atmosphere was very cold and uninviting. At least use some warm lights or something. It felt like a hospital cafeteria!
I left a good tip though; because the girl that cleared our table was on her game and so very polite! She can't have an easy job with the amount of people that come in and create messes all over. I wish I knew her name so I could give her proper koodos.
