A little disappointing, not gonna lie. We were excited, being relatively new to the area, to try out Huckleberry's as #1 - we love breakfast places and #2 - we LOVE huckleberries in general, you know, the actual berry. Sad to say the huckleberries were woefully lacking, and the overall food was just ok, with nothing really great. We had a shrimp omelet, along with a chicken fried steak platter with pancakes and huckleberry muffin on the side. Also paid an extra $4 for the added huckleberry compote, which was a mistake. The omelet was good, with lots of shrimp and great flavor. That was the very best part of the entire meal. The chicken fried steak was just ok, on the dry side, and overly salty. the gravy was kind of gloppy and tasted ok, but just made everything that much heavier. The 3 eggs on the platter were all undercooked (asked for over-medium, got over-barely-cooked with runny whites). The red potatoes were surprisingly good when they looked boiled and washed out, while the hashbrowns were standard diner hashbrowns, so just fine I suppose. The real disappointment was in the muffin and the pancakes. The muffin was very very dry, needed all the butter and then some to really be able to eat it, and the huckleberries were visibly there, but with nothing in the way of flavor. The pancakes were tough and hard to cut, chewy in a way pancakes should not be. And the expensive addition of the huckleberry compote was a mistake as it was flavorless and just tasted like sugary thick lumpy syrup that tasted vaguely of some kind of generic fruit. Could have been just about anything. Not worth it. Overall, the service was good, as was the ambience. But the food knocks it all down a notch. It was also kind of expensive for what you get overall. We probably won't be back, although one day we might give them a second...
Read moreI used Huckleberry's for early morning breakfast catering (offsite) twice in the same week for 255 people initially and 135 the second time in the same week. For those of you that order business catering and understand how hard it is just to find a breakfast caterer, you will find it refreshing that after your initial confirmation, staff here calls the day prior to confirm your order again. Afterwards, they proactively reach out to see how it went, get feedback if they need to improve, etc. A true form of customer service! The food was excellent and large catering portions. We ordered breakfast burritos (they cut them in half) and they were huge. The breakfast burritos comes with a Cajon saucethat was tastly and not too spicy as well as chili. They Lao provided ketschup and a bottled pepper sauce as well. We also ordered fresh fruit, bacon and sausage sides all from their catering order. I will definitely use them again for catering as they took the stress out of the process and delivered friendly service...
Read moreI rarely give bad reviews. It felt awful to be treated rudely by the manager. I had ordered a breakfast platter with scrambled eggs, which had a shell or something crunchy that felt and looked like a piece of shell. The manager comes over back with my plate (after the kind helpful 5 star waitress took it) to tell me, 'they don't use fresh eggs for scrambled.' Mind you the person that I went to the restaurant with did order an over easy real egg that has a shell. If the manager used her brain and thought oh maybe the cook dropped a piece on the grill and got it mixed in mine by accident. I didn't want a refund or more eggs, just wanted them to let the cook know. So the manager discounts my bill by $2. And i didn't even say anything about the burnt bacon and pancake, with the bacon having an off taste. Wow! Awful customer service especially from the manager. This was my 2nd and last time going here. The first location was elsewhere and all the food taste like it came from a...
