IHOP — Restaurant in Modesto

Its a tiny restaurant and its super cramped and has a homeless encampment behind the bushes in the parking lot area and they only have two booths (which I always get) and a half and the rest of the tables are small and uncomfortable and to close to each other, cramped.. I was seated but I actually didnt stay to eat. The lady who served my drink I guess was having a bad day, bad attitude. She gave me my drink but never came back to give me my second drink. Later I asked the manager if I could have one of the empty booths that had just been unocupied and cleaned and he ignored me and kept walking. A nice male waiter asked him too and he ignored him and kept walking so I asked again and he said "No its for a party of five". The manager was rude in the tone and manner he used and surprised me because myself and the waiter asked politely. Half an hour later a different waitress comes to take my order, mind you, I never got the drinks of my guest only mine, and at that point I decided I was NOT EVER gonna eat there or recommend this place. So I told the waitress I wasn't gonna order and that I was gonna eat elsewhere. Instead I ate at Jalapenos taqueria here in Modesto which is one of my favorite places to eat. They make quesadillas with hand made tortillas that are so soft and delicious it just melts in your mouth. Theyre served with a whole grilled jalapeno, cream, home made hot sauce (chile), lettuce, 1 slice of tomatoe and lime. I always get their jamaica (hibiscus juice) to go with it. It was happy hour 4.35. Nice until . to pay. $50 PLUS 9.00 TIP. DIDNT LOOK UNTIL BANK APP 2 EAT FREE WITH TWO CHILDREN. MYSELF a grandmother of 3. One is 12 and did not get kiddee menu. She charged Willy Wonka drink 5.79. I ordered 55 and older 11.70 plus biscuit. 3.79 and coffee 3.79 that was fine. 12 year old ordered off menu but wanted tacos. Other two got but wanted pancakes but silver 5. The kid menu was Jr ft dippers. No price on menu happy hour. She should have asked. They got tired wanted to go.l paid and left. She stated 6.00 off. I signed. Should be about 25.oo. She back 1/2 hour or so later. Place was full. The 13 year old and I came back asked do you remember me she stated yes. Two standing there waiting for to go orders. I said make no sence stated sorry she rang again. What I don't understand. Other people heard I'm sorry for that. She had to call mgt. Not called back. A Pic in charges poke to me and said could not. What she didn't know is I know Spanish. Why lie. She went through her book and must have given it to you. No I only have 1 I signed. Went through garbage all rumpled papers, not there. She was the only one I saw and cook. All of a sudden, she found a receipt, not one first 59. Then, a family discount. I signed. Now back of 51. I gave 9.00 was nice, until I looked at app on phone. I don't mind paying but...

The staff and ESPECIALLY manager, were very kind! They have great customer service skills, and I’m thankful for the managers kindness!

I did a online pick up order, and for some reason, it said my card didn’t go through, EVEN though it took the money out of my account and said IHOP. I called the IHOP to notify them, and they said they didn’t get my order, and that it didn’t go through.

I explained to the manager that it took the money out of my account, and he said it probably went to the one on hatch and to call them first, and give them a call back and they would make my order for me:)!

I have cash app, so cash app actually took my money, put it towards IHOP, and then refunded me back. So if this ever happens to you, wait about 10 minutes and your money should be back! I ended up getting my money back from Cash App and reordering from IHOP.

I’m thankful that they didn’t use a rude tone with me and were extremely nice and took my thoughts into consideration even though I was wrong. I didn’t get the managers name, but I’m extremely thankful for him! This iHop always provides...
