Grocery Outlet — Local services in Modesto

I go here when I need last minute "staples" and I do not mind paying a little bit more for. Such as the organic gluten free dry foods, or last minute specialty dairy cheeses. Fruits and vegis are often low quality and tend to spoil quickly. I use farmer markets and local farm delivery services like Farm Fresh for my produce. (Much bigger and fresher quality). I like the supply of health and beauty at Grocery Outlet. It reminds me of the old Pic n Save and Kmart health and beauty section. A plethora of stuff and doable in last minute needs. HOWEVER, I am still going to say pricey. So do not think it is cheap. It is CONVENIENT. I do not buy meats from them, I had bad luck with produce, so I haven't attempted. Also, I love the new village butcher on McHenry I have recently discovered. Before that it was ALWAYS O'Brians on Roseburg Ave. Both places, highly recommended for quality. Again. Price there is high. But, another review. The Grocery Outlet is extremely friendly, lines are short compared to Winco, the closest grocery store to them, which is why they win some of my smaller trips. Really great deals and bargains. Always something new. Really enjoy shopping here. They have a lot of organic snacks and healthy options to choose from. Great prices in laundry soaps, dog & cat food and snacks, health & beauty products, sometimes bargains on fun new wines & beers to discover, tons of frozen food sales, canned goods at great prices, as well as dairy and deli items. Their prices on soda, chips, and bread items run about the same as other stores.

Last week I somehow lost my cell phone there and didn't realize where I had misplaced it for many hours. Finally, I called the store to see if by chance that's where I lost it and to my relief it was there! So honest helpful employees are there as well. Parking is never a problem at this location and the store is clean and well organized. Aisles are wide and there is never a long wait at the check out counters. They still bag your groceries there just be sure to bring your own...

A worker said that she doesn’t need or want elderly people with memory problems or disabilities to come in to “HER” store and make mistakes, or say they made one. So I’m assuming that she might be the manager or even owner with the way she says “HER store” and if so that is so disgusting and she needs to be fired and or this store needs to be shut down. She said that they should just stay away from her store, she doesn’t want them to come there. Also heard her trying to humiliate by yelling, mocking and scolding a elderly lady with a Hospital band on for having memory problems, and when she got close to her she said she smells a little like cat urine and yelled at her front of everyone in the store that the elderly lady should take a bath.
