I'm not sure if I came on an off day. I'll start out by saying that I love the decor. It's elegant. The service staff were pretty decent. The food. I ordered a salmon 'dinner entree'. It was lunch, but I guess on the weekends they don't have a lunch menu. I ordered the Salmon Teriyaki entree. The salad was the best thing in the whole meal. The miso soup was pretty good. But the teriyaki sauce only added texture; there was no flavor. I also got the spicy tuna roll, and I hate to say that it was quite awful to look at and it tasted the same :( My friend ordered the Dragon Roll, which was actually quite good but lacked crab (she said it usually comes with crab). She had the sizzling chicken dish and her chicken tasted somehow plain and burnt (despite copious amounts of unflavored sauce) We were both surprised. I came at the recommendation of a friend, but it turned out to be probably the worst sushi I've ever had (at least the spicy tuna roll). If I ever come here again, it'll be because I'm invited by a friend and I'm too polite to decline, if it's better in the future I'll update my rating.

I had a lovely dining experience that balanced great flavors, attentive service, and a touch of charm. I decided to eat at the bar since it was just myself dining.🍽 The miso soup was warm and savory, a comforting start to the meal. I especially appreciated the seaweed salad, which was fresh and vibrant. The spicy edamame was just okay—mild in heat, but still a nice appetizer.🍽 The standout for me was the Lava Roll—beautifully seared, giving it a subtle BBQ-like touch that set it apart from typical rolls. The spicy mayo (i ordered on the side) had a pleasant tangy kick that complemented it well. To drink, the Sapporo beer was served crisp and ice-cold, exactly how it should be.🍺 A wonderful surprise was the Studio Ghibli soundtracks playing softly in the background—adding a nostalgic, cozy atmosphere.🎶 The service was excellent. The staff were kind and professional throughout, and Michelle, our waitress, was especially courteous and attentive. All of this for about $45 made for a very reasonable and enjoyable night out. I’ll definitely return.🤗

We have eaten at Okawa about a half dozen times now, and have a pretty good feel for the menu. Their sashimi items reflect absolutely meticulous attention to detail. Tonight I had the Otoro. The quality is amazing. I continued with a mixed shrimp and scallops hibachi. They originally served this dish on a hot salt slab. I was really wondering if I would miss this feature, but I don’t. I recommend the hibachi dishes (chicken, shrimp, etc). My wife usually gets the chicken, and we share. They are served with fresh vegetables, cooked in a garlic mixture. I have been opting for the fried rice, rather than white rice. Be careful about ordering the fried rice. It is not just good. It is exceptional. Because of this, I eat a lot more in one sitting. You have been warned. This is a clean, efficiently run, tastefully appointed restaurant. I have eaten just rolls, just nigiri, and family dishes here. Compared to similar restaurants in the region, and, believe me, I have tried most of them, this is top notch.

Called ahead to make dinner reservations for a party of 6. Was on a Monday so probably one of their slower nights.. When we got there, we were seated by the host immediately which was fantastic! Cant remember our servers name but she was a dark-haired Cambodian girl with glasses n she was absolutely awesome! Kept our glasses full and promptly provided anything we asked for.

We ordered quite a bit of food.. like 4 appetizers, some nigiri, 5 or 6 sushi rolls, a bowl of ramen, a couple dinner entrees, AND dessert! 🤤

ALL of the food was delicious! ESPECIALLY the Matcha cheesecake! IMO, it is TO DIE FOR. The strawberry wafer ice cream was amazing as well but I've had it elsewhere before so it was nothing new to me.. the Matcha cheesecake on the other hand - OOooO man! I'd never had anything like it before, the taste was just so different that it made it that much more DIVINE. Why is my mouth is watering right now?? lol

Anyway.. Loved the atmosphere and the workers all seem very friendly.. altogether, great experience! Couldnt have asked for anything...
