La Parrilla Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Modesto

I've live in the area for about 5 yrs and I've gone to all the parrilla locations here locally. The parrilla is one of my familys favorite restaurants the food is great. But the last two times I've visited this location with my family they've left us there abandoned not even checking when we needed refills and am not talking a 5 minute wait no am talking the waiters passing by and seeing our table and not going back to ask if we needed refills, or also not bringing us the items we need even when asking them like 2 or 3 times, and this last time our waiter took our order we ask for an appetizerand it was never brought to us come to see the receipt she never wrote it down and to top it off the waiter left us and went to the bar and we were left without a waiter for the rest of time we were at the restaurant and we weren't off to a small corner no we were in front of the bar and still got bad service, to me it seemed they'd care more of the 8 people sitting at the bar than everybody else in the restaurant I saw that other tables waited a while for their food and refills as well. I understand that sometimes they are short staffed and alot of people come to the restaurant at the same time but I've been to other restaurants and when the waiters work as a team instead of worrying about their individual tip, they can take care of all the guest at the restaurant, but like I've said it's not the first time this has happened to me. I am giving the 3 stars cause I love the food or else I would of given...

My husband and I came here for our date night. We've come before with family but first time just the two of us.

We ordered our food and waited.

Our waitress was bringing our food to the table when she accidentally bumped into the chair and dropped my plate of food.

Throwing it across the table, onto my clothes, onto my husband's clothes, phone and shoes. Along with hot beans all over his hand. The waitress apologized, and moved us to another table.

Im assuming what was a manager walked by, apoligized and said "im so sorry, we are going to give you a discount." And walked away. (They gave us 25% off... of my plate. Our total before the discount was $33.85. The total after the discount and textes.... was $31.85........... so not even a $3 discount lol... )

We waited for a waitress to come back around because my husband didnt have any utensils so he couldnt eat his plate of food. By the time a waitress came around (not ours) his food was cold. Our waitress came back maybe 2 times?

Once we were ready we asked our waitress for boxes and for the check. She never came back so we just brought our check to the front.

We paid at the front and left. I haven't been super impressed with the service prior, and I feel that this visit just made me not want to come back.

We never have an issue at the other la Parilla locations. So im not sure the difference. But definely won't be our first choice for eating out.

WORST MANAGEMENT EVER. My aunt booked the private room for my dad’s “Cancer Free!” party with about 15-20 people. We booked way in advance, about 3 weeks. I went into the restaurant to see the space and meet the manager so I knew what type of decor I was allowed to bring. They had a projector screen and hookups to it for my laptop so I made a beautiful slideshow entailing my dad’s progress in becoming cancer free. The day of the event my aunt called to make sure everything was in order and they informed her that the room was reserved for a different party because they paid $200 to have the room booked. Even though they said it was “first come, first served” they booked the other party because they paid and THEY NEVER INFORMED US!!!! They never said ANYTHING about there needing to be a fee to book the room. When I spoke to the manager she lied, insisting that she told my husband and I that if someone else paid that they would get priority. She never said anything about a fee or that someone would be able to take our reservation. We ended up having some tables pushed together in the main room surrounded by strangers. No decorations, no slideshow. The worst part is several of us got super sick from eating the food that day! Some of us had stomach problems. One of the kids got sick and vomited. I had stomach issues for 2 days after. They apologized to us but we can never get that day back. SHADY...
