UPDATE: Just to be clear the "Owner" replied to my comment with misguided information in an attempt to undermine my experience at their establishment to which I may have returned had they approached the situation with respect and consideration. Just because one employee changed their gloves before handling my sandwich does not negate the employee mentioned who did multiple tasks with the SAME pair of unchanged gloves including answering the phone handling the doors and touching the trash while prepping/ preparing ingredients in their kitchen. As a professional chef of TWENTY FIVE YEARS, I understand how unsanitary and dangerous it is for staff to ignore their serve safe responsibilities.
That being said, my HONEST review remains the same. I walked in and nobody was up front. Given it was 9:30 in the morning, I gave it a few MOMENTS*(my previous word used was a mistype as my review was posted while in a rush returning before my break was over) as I could see they were prepping in the back through the window. I made eye contact with several people and still no one came to the front in a hurry. At a glacier speed someone finally came to the front. I ordered the power panini with avocado. It took only about 8 minutes for me to receive my sandwich. The restaurant was empty and they were playing the saddest and most dreadful low energy music so I occupied my mind by watching through the window as the team prepped their fruits n such for the day and made my sandwich. I watched an employee put a pair of gloves on which I approved of ... Only for her to answer the phone, touch a door twice, smash down the trash in the trash can, and then go back to prepping ALL WHILE WEARING THE SAME PAIR OF GLOVES. As if that wasn't bad enough, I saw that my sandwich was being packaged and when she brought it to the front she quickly handed it to me and turned her back to walk back into the kitchen immediately before I could even fully grasp the box. It felt unsteady in my hand and I almost dropped it and while she walked through the kitchen door, back turned, she said to have a good day. The whole vibe and energy in the place was very blegh. I got to my car and opened my sandwich to see that it was not cut in half as the menu photo suggested it would be. It was incredibly difficult to eat and the avocado was not sliced as you'd assume it would be in a sandwich... It's actually mashed up like guacamole with some very light seasoning and lemon inside in attempt to hide that it is old avocado. The sandwich was incredibly difficult to eat as it wasn't cut and the avocado was just smooshing out the sides and getting everywhere. The cheese is SO incredibly thin and flavorless that it has no place in the sandwich really, it literally added nothing to it and had a slightly unpleasant texture. Unnecessary calories really. Lastly I had added red onions to the sandwich. I was charged an extra three dollars for it. I guess it was worth it because it was the only thing you could really taste in the sandwich. I would have been even more disappointed if I ordered it as is since there was SO little flavor aside from the unpleasant older avocado taste. I was given no napkins or hand wipes so ... 😑 You can guess how frustrating that was. I was also wearing a suit as I am working so trying to keep the poorly assembled sandwich off of my clothes was quite a nuisance. I definitely regret spending time and money here this morning. I won't be back. I suggest if you do try this place, to come later in the day and maybe the staff will be more attentive and caring and you won't see people use dirty gloves on your food. Also wear bummy clothes and bring something to clean your hands with and they do not offer you anything. All around...
Read moreMy husband and I don't really like to eat out much as we really try to watch what we eat and we are also great cooks and Bakers, however our daughter was obsessed with Vitality Bowl Acai bowls and like a drug dealer she got us hooked!!! Now our whole family needs rehab as we eat it about 4 times a week and we don't want to rehab lol Our favorite is the Superfood bowl with chia seed pudding and several add on's especially shredded coconut, almonds and extra honey- wow, so good I'm drooling all over my keyboard as I type lol It's a family own and ran business which we are all happy to support and they truly take a personal effort to make it right and keep you coming back. We go to the Modesto location and when we are out of the area it's still good but just not as top notch as Modesto! Thanks to the great staff Ryan, Sam, Nick and the Monther Hen (the owner) Silvana and others! Don't wait...go today!...
Read moreThis place has become mine and my husbands go to place although he goes there more than I do. He came across it a few months ago and lunch. That night he was telling me about it and I shrugged it off and said "yeah sure,, we go by and give it a try" well apparently he told them that this type of food was right up his wife's alley and he brought me there the next day (Saturday) and to be honest I was first impressed that she remembered my husband by name and smiled and said your brought your wife. The food was delicious and the acai bowl we got (shared) was so good. I even picked that place for my birthday dessert. He's probably there a few times a week, me probably every other. So glad they are in our neck of the woods. My only wish would be that they opened sooner so I could get a smoothie or toast...
