Pizza Twist — Restaurant in Modesto

The most recent review about the tipping is correct, I recently came for the first time and it asked me to tip but why would I tip when I’m not evening eating inside?? I ordered to go plus I got one pizza that was $34 so ya. Pizza was mid. We got the lamb and it wasn’t cooked well and I’m not sure if it was cuz I didn’t tip or not. He went in the back to grab my pizza and didn’t return for a good 10 mins and I know my pizza was in the box ready to go bc it was cold. Yall weird for that fr

My reply to the owner: Yes I said “it” bc it’s a computer not a person otherwise I would’ve said “he” asked me to tip… offended by a computer asking me to tip? 😂 oh so you think you funny now Lol. You also failed to mention that the dude went to the back for 10 mins after I paid for a pickup order that’s supposed to be ready when I get there… after he saw I didn’t tip he was hanging out in the back for 10 mins doing who knows what when I know my pizza was ready the whole time bc it was on the colder side when I got it and there was nobody inside the restaurant. Maybe he switched it over to another one bc I didn’t tip? Obviously I don’t know that’s why I’m here writing a review. tandoori pizza in Turlock is fire and they have way better service. If you want to make a returning customer that had a bad experience come back and try it again.. well this is not the way...

So I saw this place has good reviews, and I read a few that gave it some props so I figured I would try it out..

My first gripe is that I placed my order 10 minutes before I arrived.. Not only did I have to wait an additional 40 minutes, but a group that just placed their order at the time I arrived got their food first. 😒

I ordered the following: Small combo Pizza - Pretty good, nothing special Cheesy Garlic Fries - Not cheesy, not "garlicy" Masala Fries - These were Amazing

So overall the food was average. Very disappointed in the "Cheesy Garlic Fries" (before and after pics included). Once I brought it to their attention, they offered to remake them for me, however not without a bit of pushback saying that it just looked a little burnt. (There were literally a couple Millimeters of cheese, if that) Also ZERO garlic flavor (according to them, customers don't like too much garlic butter on their literal GARLIC cheese sticks)

Another customer mentioned to them that the food tasted "rushed".

The people are friendly and remade my cheese sticks to my liking, but I also can't look past just the amount of time I ended up spending waiting to eat and having simple cheese sticks to be made correctly even after all...

I've ordered halal wings from here many times, they have always been good quality and well made/nicely sauced. Yesterday I called my order in (6 piece halal wings with Tikka Masala sauce.) I came in to pay and pick up my order. I paid and did not tip - I do not feel I need to tip for simply ordering and paying for my food. I will not longer feeling guilted into tipping for everything. I did not receive service worth tipping for so I did not tip. Well.... the guy who rung me up saw that I didn't tip. He went back to box my food (wings were already cooked) and it sounded like he was "spinning" my wings with sauce in a metal bowl. When I got home to open the box, the wings looked SO dry. They were comically dry. What the hell was he doing back there if not spinning them in sauce? I really wish I could see a video of what he was doing. Well.... if this is how your employees are going to conduct business, then I will no longer patronize this business. Your employee wanted to screw me? Well guess what, screw you guys - you're no longer...
