Update at the bottom. I waited an hour for Jez to take my card. I also used to work here and they didn't allow me disability accommodations (which was literally just a timer on my phone) and this one older lady still gives me a stink look every time I come in because I couldn't afford server shoes and was walking slow. Personally at her age that behavior is trashy and I couldn't imagine having a grudge on someone 20+ years younger than me (let alone for 4 years. Talk about trashy and no emotional regulation or discernment or grace). I live in the middle of nowhere and travel quite a ways here and this is sadly not a great location for a Denny's. I own Dennys stock so listen to me. I thought Jez was lying when I heard her asking for Google reviews because she said they're basing people's hours off of Google reviews. That is VERY tacky and tactless and classless. People are only going to leave reviews out of pity. Jez is obviously very stressed and rushed but she also straight up ignored me a lot so I can't tell if I feel bad or not. Her demeanor is also just very... all over the place. How about not overworking or underworking your employees so they don't work all rushed and give terrible service. Today was my third day in a row coming because I really crushed it at the gym but the past 2 nights the girl with the long blonde hair was fantastic and accommodating and super nice. I'm going to get home super late now :( Jez could have just told me she prefers I come to the counter, I forgot they do that here. I came in intending to tip 25 but hell no. If Jez isn't lying and this is how they're deciding to schedule shifts, absolute SHAME on the management. What an unethical business model! How about monitor your employee's performance like a normal GM! It's secondhand embarrassing to see an establishment grab for these "get rich quick" schemes like begging for google reviews- how about upping your scores by giving your employees a normal work-life balance so that it becomes NATURAL for people to give their best. I came here to reward myself for my work at the gym with the seasonal pumpkin pancakes I love, and as annoying as Jez was, I don't feel good knowing the person who is waiting on me is struggling to live (which is why I still would have tipped 200% if I had it tbh but I was using my last anyways) Imagine being roasted by the future founder of a large conglomerate across multiple verticals because your labor rights practices suck lol. I thought about trying to work here again to make a little extra to fund my businesses but idk man, I may just stick to my plan of moving to Denver with my best friend lol I can't with the Midwest the way people do things out here is so mediocre. They're so lucky I wasn't more liberal with the ada and Osha complaints back then because now I just slam them out. When I worked here before, I once couldn't make a shift and unbeknownst to me they shut the entire place down because of it.. yes, you read that correctly. Bewildering, I know. I have never heard of anything like that before in my LIFE, that is so weird and if you have to shut a whole restaurant down because one employee couldn't make one shift, it really goes to show that they have been unsucessful in onboarding many employees and you have to wonder why. Update I came again and jez mentioned that "she got called tacky" in a Google reviews when I am actually calling the management here tacky for basing employee schedules off of Google reviews, THAT is what I am calling an unethical business model, I don't fault the employees for working for...
Read moreWent to dennys for thanksgiving we arrived there at at 2:24 pm order half zesty nachos mozzarella sticks for our appetizers, took bout 20 mins to get. Ordered our main dishes grand slam, lumberjack, Philly omelet with onion rings. We couldn’t just order sandwiches alone so we had to order the meals for the bourbon burger fries, And the cali sandwich and red mash potatoes. After waiting for 2 hours and they brought us bouboun burger with no bourbon sauce and fries, Philly omelet with no onion rings instead (with hash browns I didn’t want), cali sandwich meal with mash potatoes, no lumber jack meal, no grand slam meal one refill for our group of 3. When we arrived there was only 3 other tables in the dining room and 2 of them had there meals served the 3rd table ended up leaving to go elsewhere the had a table of 6. The staff consisted of 4 wait staff, a cook, a manager when we arrived, when we left there was a shift change. The waiter we had was now in the kitchen cooking and serving, one waitress standing at register, manager not doing anything, not giving orders, not picking up the slack, the cook was steadliy cooking at very slow pace. Our waiter was handling the food and serving it to the customers in the dining room The waitress would stand at register and the go into the kitchen complaining but not doing much of anything else. And the manager on duty well that’s someone who did nothing at all. So in the end we dint get our full order , by the time we did get our partial order in was cold, our son didn’t even get his meal which was the lumberjack, and my husband didn’t get his either which was the grand slam. And when the bill came it was 75 dollars. This by all means was the worse customer service, worst resteraunt to go to on thanksgiving. While we waited for our food 8 more tables walked in. 3 sat themselves since no host sat them while 5 more waited to be sat. This place needs to be restaffed with new management, and maybe they would hire the right people for the job. Hell the kid waiting on us was trying to get the food out to his tables but was getting the orders wrong or incomplete because he was cooking and serving. He did try though in that regard. But he couldn’t keep up with the tables. And the waitress was just a complainer not trying to help him keep up his tables. The cook got overwhelmed with takeout orders, and lost track of the dining room orders. We would not recommend this place,to anyone under the...
Read moreWe came in an honestly had a very polite, attentive waitress...Christina. However, I dont know what happened.
When the food came, it was ALL overcooked. Mind, you I only asked for the eggs to be scrambled well and hash browns to be cooked through.
Both slams were tasteless, overcooked in parts, and hard. The pancakes were dark, bacon dark, hash browns hard, not soft like a potato, and the eggs were undercooked. I asked to replace the pancakes because they were too dark and they brought another order which looked better although a little undercooked but I just kept it.
I sifted through and ate around the food because I was hungry and just wanted a peaceful meal. The other person with me returned theirs. The third person with us had an undercooked ultimate omelet.
The issue is, our waitress disappeared. She never came back. The manager said, oh I sent Christina home because she got sick, she was hot. The girl was perfectly well. The cook kept looking at our table during our meal after he was talking to those in back about the food. Its like he wanted us to eat. He was watching us.
Immediately after I ate, we left because me and the other person with the ultimate omelet sifted around and ate our food. I was dog sick. My stomach immediately started hurting. I had to rush to the washroom and continued throughout the evening. I was even nauseous. I went to sleep and woke up feeling like I had to vomit.
This Dennys is horrible. Not my first time here, there was an issue with service before, but it's been a couple years so I figured I'd give them a chance.
It seemed to me like something was put in the food which resulted in food poisoning or something. I was perfectly fine when I went in and got terribly sick walking out.
I will never go there again and don't trust them...And what even happened to waitress? My thought, she went and sat in the back until we left. This was such a weird, creepy, eerie experience.
If you are the minority when you walk in this restaurant, and you will be, LEAVE. This is no place for minorities. Its like spiking a drink. Something happened and I don't know what or who did it.
CLOSE THIS PLACE ALREADY. These people don't even make enough money to care about...
