UPDATE. Someone in family called in and let them know we weren't happy. Ended up getting comped the meal and will give them another try. Adjusting to three stars from one because hardly anywhere gives a hoot when you are not satisfied anymore, but apparently the White Horse does. So that's cool.
Takeout. Ordered 2 cheeseburgers, a kids cheeseburgers and a "candied bleu cheeseburger" tots with one fries with three. Total with a 20% tip it was like $57.
Lets start with the good: The take out container was pretty decent quality, not the typical foam garbage, but also not the chic waxed cardboard or a fancy animal made out of tin foil. More of a hardish plastic.
Now the not so good: They made a mistake and so there was an extra 15-20 minute wait. Bummer but alright. I ask to take a seat at a table. Alternative was stand at the other side of a bars 6 foot barrier. I get home with the food and start handing my family what they ordered. My candied bacon bleu looks pretty sad, like a pile of limp soggy rare bacon. All of the orders come with fries. Alright still not a big deal I was the one with tots and I dont really care about the shape of my fried piece of potato. I take a bite of a fry.... They are like that weird bag of chips that is supposed to be like fries. Literally the only time I have ever had a fry like this and they are basically terrible. Everybody at the tables fries are this gone cold, hard as a rock weird fry. It set the mood for the rest of the meal. We all thoroughly regret ordering the food here when there is a at least 3 other alternatives in the area that are decent at a burger. Turns out it's my burger that must have been wrong. It's undercooked and the bacon is just soggy and not candied, soggy large scoop of bleu cheese. Overall don't think I will ever risk buying food for a group here again, probably won't even do it just for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreListen, Iām all about supporting our local businesses here in Molalla. We have been to The White Horse at least 5 times in the past couple years. Each time, thereās been a little something that we donāt like about it- but we come back to give it another shot. The past two visits have really put us where we are today: We are not going to The White Horse for food again. The food is okay, but for the price, itās over the top & forget it if you want āextras.ā THREE DOLLARS for āfancy friesā on THE SIDE-FRIES folks. Donāt even think about the Nachos if you want to add meat. $10 for a ājumbo pretzel.ā Hereās what sealed the deal for us: I ordered pasta & the guys had burgers, meat, etc. The place was hardly busy, & I watched our server take my dish to another table, only to come back to the table a few minutes later & say, āsorry about that, thatās not your dish, my mistake.ā We then watched her put the dish back under the heat lamps for the next 10 minutes until the guys food was ready. I understand mistakes happen, but when your guest is sitting right in front of you taking the dish to another table, I would think thereās a better way to handle that mistake then by still serving it to me 15 min later. Needless to say, the pasta dried out from being under the heat lamp. My husbands burger was over cooked, shrimp was good, & you get a ton in there; But at the end of the day, itās gonna be a no from us...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent in because of reviews from Google and just out driving around. I require a handicap parking space but am able to walk. The restaurant faces a major road with no parking. There is also no back parking area or entrance. The closest handicap parking space is approximately 2 1 1/2 blocks away from the front entrance of the restaurant. Once inside navigation is not an issue. The waitress immediately greeted me and directed me to an open area to be seated. She very quickly brought the menu and asked about the drinks. We briefly discussed the menu and she said that she would let me review the menu then return. She returned and we talked briefly and I chose the āCowboy Carbonaraā meal. So bottom line was it is average quality. The pasta was tender and fine. I was expecting a richer thicker sauce but as it turns out it is mostly a watery Alfredo Sauce that was lacking in flavor and there was a glaring lacking of the Carbonara. The chicken was average not quite but almost too dry. I think for $20.00 the presentation, flavor and quality could have been better. Service was fine, the interior of the building was fine, there were little metal bistro tables out front that you can sit at while year. Only about 6 feet from the dirty dusty highway and I canāt imagine trying to sit there with your girlfriend for a romantic meal. Donāt think Iāll be back there again. They may have some good food but I didnāt...
