We’ve been to the 5th Avenue Syndicate several times and have always had great food and service, but the last two visits were very disappointing. I ordered a filet medium rare, and it came out medium. The server took it back, but the replacement came out raw in the center. I spoke to the manager, who apologized and offered dessert, but that didn’t make up for not getting the main meal I ordered. I refused to eat it because it was raw, and while they didn’t charge me for the steak, I still left hungry. After this happening twice in just a couple of months, I most likely will not be returning. The photos posted are from another time when we had a great food experience. No photos were taken on the last visit Aug 2025. I’m not sure if this place is under new management but the first time my steak was not cooked right a female manager made sure it was right and made sure our experience continued to be a pleasant one. They recovered nicely and we continued to have a great time and came back. However, this last time the male manager seemed annoyed that I was making a complaint and did not give me a great feel for this restaurant to come back to. When I will be spending $$$ I expect a steak done to what I ask for.

It was our first time here. The atmosphere is great, very classy and seems upscale. Our server was awesome and very nice. However, the food was subpar. We ordered the whipped goat cheese appetizer which was phenomenal. Absolutely loved that. For entrees, I ordered the 8 ounce steak medium, it came out medium well to well done at best. It was tender, just wish it was made to temperature. My boyfriend ordered the salmon. The salmon was atrocious. For starters the cut had to of been at best 4 ounces and was overly well done. For a $36 salmon this is unacceptable. Our server did get another one for him that was much less dry and overcooked. We also ordered the Gruyère gratin potatoes which came out very dry also. They appeared as though they had been sitting in the window dying, cheese was crusty and hard on top. Overall just disappointed and probably will not return. For the price of the food the expectations were way higher.

Really slow service on a dead Sunday brunch. Service was friendly but rarely checked on the table. Great ambiance. Food was decent but sightly over priced. Horrible coffee. I was overall really disappointed, but I will check out again for lunch or dinner to give it a second shot. I would recommend checking it out for a date night possibly- it's a new establishment and I'm sure they're figuring stuff out. Update 1/25/20: Visited again for a date night for a Saturday night dinner and drinks. Much different experience. Service was very quick compared to last time. We got the avacado fries, fondue sliders, French brisket sandwich, and smoke and salt cocktail. All very good. It was very busy and the food and service were what I was expecting the first time. It was nice that management did reach out to me to discuss my concerns. It seemed like they were interested in addressing my concerns.

Since more details were requested, here they are.

The host seemed annoyed that she had to seat us. Maybe she was having an off night. I felt like we offended her by walking into the restaurant.

The wait for drinks and food after being seated was quite long for a restaurant that wasn’t busy. The waitress did apologize stating she had to deliver room service in the hotel, so not blaming her at all, just poor scheduling.

The fried pickles were bland and felt like someone trying to make a usually awesome bar food into something too trendy. They added cheese - sounds tasty but it was the wrong kind for the flavor of pickles combined with egg roll wrappers. The actual pickle pieces were small. One of the six was all cheese, no pickle. The lobster roll had pieces of shell in it and not much flavor, made more obvious by the giant limp piece of lettuce under the lobster meat. Maybe some coleslaw would help.

Menu has zero vegetarian entrees.

Bar area is pretty but the seats aren’t that comfortable, table salt wasn’t filled, table light wouldn’t turn on (I don’t think any table’s lights were lit but could be mistaken), and was fairly dim to try and read a menu.

Overall just a really underwhelming experience, especially for that price point. Won’t be...

It was my senior Prom dinner and this dinner was very important to me, however I was deeply let down. As a server myself I know that it can be stressful, but that gives no right to not check up on your tables for a whole hour. We were left without a waitress for a whole hour, some water cups were empty and our food took an hour. I ordered a burger and not only did it take an hour but it also wasn’t made how I ordered it. It was a very dry burger and a soggy bun when I got the burger finally. My date and I spent 91 dollars which is not worth the service or food we were given. To top that all off they also didn’t get our reservation right either, I called to make sure there would be an 8 top available and they assured me there would be. Once we got there they said their system didn’t update, which is fine but then we were stuck with a table that was wobbly and no decor while the table next to us had a lovely set up. While I will admit we ended up with 9 people and they did accommodate that which is very much appreciated which the owner was very sweet and did an amazing job with last minute adding, the rest of the night was disappointing. We were also late...
