During the Ghost Buster decorations, we called ahead to the restaurant to see if the decorations were still up cause the Halloween season was ending, the lady who answered the phone said that they were still up and running. We ended up driving over an hour to come eat and see the decorations only to be disappointed when we pulled up to see there was nothing there. We entered the upper door to go eat and since we never was there before, we didn't know the restaurant was in the other half of the building. We asked the bartender if we should seat ourselves and he replied with "I don't care". Already upset about the decorations and getting frustrated with the service, we sat down, 10 minutes later ( cause the bartender was chatting with his customers) he came to see what we wanted. We asked for a menu then he told his to go to the restaurant area down the hall. Once again, frustrated we went and was sat without a menu or the young lady asking for a drink. Now this place wasnt busy at the time, there was 3 people at the bar and only two tables at the restaurant being occupied. We ended up sitting for another 15 minutes at a dirty table before we got a menu. We just apologized to the waitress and left. Read moreFor everyone giving less then a 3 star review, keep in mind this restaurant is a small town mom and pop restaurant that hit national news in the last several days. No one planned for this and no on could imagine the attention it would bring as well as the volume of customers. Be more kind and patient, you can clearly see how busy they are. There is no way they would be able to train new staff, cooks, hostess, bartenders, waitresses, etc in time for the volume of customers they have received. It would do them better justice to plan a trip some time in a few weeks or months when the dust settles to give a more accurate and fair review. I have been coming to Angelo's since the 80's and it it hit or miss on service but most of the time we go in there we have a very large party and they are usually understaffed on a normal day for a large party which I completely understand. You cannot forecast something like this, I assure you they are ALL doing the best they can. Everyone in Mon City and beyond thanks you for your patronage and understanding! Read moreAfter seeing the restaurant in an article featuring its decorations my fiance and I just had to check it out. When we arrived 10/12/2019 Saturday evening we saw that is was busy. Looking around there was a lot of reserved signs on the tables. After waiting and having seats open at the bar we decided to try and order a drink. Well the bartender on duty that night said we had to go to the other side of the bar because he was "wrapping it up". Well after watching the bartender we realized he was just reserving the seats and tables so he could get off of work, and not have to serve anyone else. We will not be returning, nor recommending this restaurant after driving an hour, and getting THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. I was in the restaurant and retail industry for over 10 years. Managers on duty should be aware of what is happening in the restaurant and checking on all employees.
